"Because not all black people are like this" Obviously. I grew up in a predominantly white area. A lot of the white kids parents did this. They'd have expensive clothes and material things, but had to move around a lot and rent different places (didn't own their own property or house), and always had box dinners never real food. They'd usually eat dinner at my place. I think its because kids can be cruel and just because someone is poor, they don't want their kids to "look poor".
& When I was in school we did "school clothes shopping" before school started. It wasn't until after classes started that teachers would give out the supplies list. A lot of the sales would be over by then, lol. Also you don't know everyone's situation. My sister makes like no money, but I buy her and her kids expensive shit all the time.
