Honesty with fitness testing?

my school does fitness testing and gives awards if you can meet certain requirements. i've done pretty well so far, but when we were counting situps i needed 35. my friend counted 40 in one minute, but i counted myself and i had about a few less. should i be honest and tell the teacher that i really didn't get 40, or just keep it at 40? its a fitness test but its for an award, so i feel like if i were to get an award because i cheated the 40 i dont feel like i deserve it? i didn't really cheat it, just miscounted a few. what do i do, keep it at 40 or tell them i got like 37 or something?

I know it doesn't really matter since I got about 35 or more already, but it counted as 40 so I don't know what to do?
