Tennis Rafa Nadal.. Those are the ones i watch i watch hockey but don't really know the teams while with baseball and golf and this kind i can't stand these.. what about you?

You mean "soccer" which is what the English first called it when they created it.
Why?
The sport is "Association Football". Notice the SOC in "Association".
And notice that FIFA is the acronym based on the French wording of the federation:
Fédération Internationale de Football Association
which translated to English is:
The International Federation of Association Football.

So, I will correct it for you like this:

In the US of A, it's "soccer" (as it should be) as reflected in these names and websites:

United States Soccer Federation aka "U. S. Soccer"

That said, I will let you say "Association Football" just like football in the USA and Canada are examples of "Gridiron Football". "Association Football" IS the official name of the sport. The only reason why it's called "football"/"futbol" elsewhere is because many of those nations don't play any other type of football ("gridiron" or "rugby"...), so they just drop "Association". Their shortening of the name of association football to "football" is no more or less righteous than the Americans adopting the original British shortening of association football to "soccer".

I do know the origins of the name. But things change over time. Just like Manchester United was originally named Newton Heath LYR FOOTBALL Club and wore yellow and green kits , something they no longer do.

In the US, it's still soccer and that's the word I will use.
And I'll still drive on the right hand side of the road.
And I will still spell words without an extra u as in colour, flavour, etc.
And I will still spell words with "er" instead of "re" as in "liter", "center", "meter", "theater" instead of "litre", "centre", "metre", and "theatre" no matter how many other people speak "The Queen's English".
