I'd use a Glock chambered in 10mm for the hog if I was hiking for a long distance.
Yeah, one caught me with a 9 only.
For bears, I'd recommend a Glock chambered in 10mm or a.44 magnum

Nah, a 10mm can barely stop a black bear, much less a grizzly.
@Rangers Yeah, okay a.44 with hard cast ammo might to the trick if you get lucky, but I'd still prefer something bigger. I still wouldn't go with a 10mm.
@HungLikeAHorsefly incase you didn't see it, they make 10mm bear rounds and you can make much faster follow up shots with a 10mm Glock than any.44 magnum.
If he's close, you'll get at most two rounds in him with anything, and that's if you're lucky. Unless you want to be able to pump more rounds into him while he's gnawing on your face.
