I don't post any pictures online! Not since I was in my early 20s and Facebook first came out. Nowadays I avoid putting myself out there, especially posting anything that can affect my job or reputation.
I'm past that stage in my life where I need to show random strangers or my "friends" how I look or what I'm up to.
And my life is SO much better since I'm not glued to social media anymore.
People that constantly post pictures online have low self esteem or just want attention... kind of sad really that they want random strangers to acknowledge them.
It's one thing to ask someone about a piece of jewelry or a shoe style. But, to ask someone how do I look, what movie star do I look like, am I pretty or ugly? You don't know who the people are who are answering. You don't know their tastes in aesthetics. They could as easily insult you as they could laud you. It's pointless. Ask people who like and love you; who care about you. Good friends. Those opinions have value. Not strangers'.
Yes, but in a different way than I think most do. My instagram is like a portfolio, I use it to show potential clients and drum up interest in my work, the same way I use twitter to get responses to my writing career.

I post pictures of my huge package so people will respect my authority.
Not for a confidence boost, but more to share hairstyles, fashion and messages.
I think it's a poor form of validation, since of course no one will say you're ugly, so you're not getting honest feedback

The only photos I post on social media are for my business, to generate more customers. I don't use it for personal reasons at all.

This is the only thing I use that would be considered "social media". I don't Tweet, FB, Snap, Insta, or whatever the fuck else is popular ! You want me? Text me or call me. LOL

I rarely do but when I do of course it's for attention. What other purpose would you take pictures on social media?
