I don't like the dances at all.
But when I actually went on the app at first I found it insanely fun. It was all crazy memes, whacky humour, offensive humour, stuff I love honestly 😂.
And at this time everyone around me was saying "TikTok? Isn't that for kids, what are you doing on that? I hate TikTok. I have no interest in singing or dancing".
I literally never saw a dancing or singing video pop up in my feed except for funny parody ones. And I think after a while the algorithm really adjusted to my humour too 😂
I wanted to start making some funny vids but I kind of lost interest. I kept watching tho.

I get you tho, if you go looking for it you will find a lot of narcissistic teens on TikTok and it's absolutely sickening. Like really makes me sick to watch 😂 What's worse is that they are so caught up in their own narcissism that they don't realise how painfully obvious and unoriginally common their narcissism is. But do their viewers care or notice how awful it is? Generally no, because it's generally a bunch of teens who are also narcisistic, blind to it and seeking the qualities of those people they watch.

But to counter that, I would say that most of the really famous people on TikTok that I see doing dances or voiceovers and the people who I actually know in real life who have put up dances and voiceovers on TikTok are doing it out of a real sense of fun and creativity. And they're really just spreading that fun. Of course there's a dose of narcissism thrown in a lot but look I guess you're gonna have that with teenagers or maybe people in general.

The mainstream audience of TikTok is generally teenagers, and the mainstream content of TikTok is going to be cringy narcissistic teenager stuff. It's not surprising.

But there's a lot of fun to be had there too and there's a least a tonne of content that I love on it, and I'm sure there'd be some for you too. Just pay attention to the stuff you like if you're interested.

And I'm always going to take pride in feeling like the positive one in the room going against the grain by saying "No man, TikTok is cool 😂"
Generally you get the sense on Instagram or Facebook or in real life that most people despise TikTok and resist it heavily so it's nice to be the opposite 😂

And I went this whole way without even mentioning how huge TikTok might become for businesses and content creators in future. It probably already has. There's a lot of potential for advertising and actually creating really impactful content. Maybe look at what Gary Vaynerchuck has to say about TikTok. A lot of people passed on Facebook because it was just for college students, a lot of people passed on Instagram because it was just for people who wanted to take photos with filters. Now they have huge importance for businesses, politicians and artists. TikTok has the most potential out of any platform to be the very same.

So anyway hahaha that was a lot longer than expected. But yeah there's teenage narcissism on TikTok and funny memes too, what ye gonna do 😂 I still think it's cool.

Lots of attention with minimum talent.
Attention for being a woman and having some hips and an arse.
10 second attention span and even that is pushing it.

I think that without even ever trying to watch, but I've had my niece's try to show me those like they're so funny and I'm always like no, it's funny that people make an ass out of themselves for attention, but the actual things they're doing, not funny to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ guess even my sense of humor is old fashioned 😂😂
