Would you consider buying a 3d printer in the future?

Probably not, I think I’ll just leave the manufacturing to the manufacturers, at least for the foreseeable future. I see 3-D printers is like a toy for people who want to make stuff, and that’s fine for them, but I don’t really have room on my yacht for any extra kit that is not essential,. Actually in the constant process of trying to get rid of all this extra junk that I have no use for at the moment, but I keep it around just in case I may need it for some special project. By the clutter is starting to get to me so I need to just bite the bullet and take the loss of $1000 worth of “nonessential “kit.
I like the concept of it but I haven't really done any research on them. Generally speaking, i'm more likely to buy one or more if I could make a business out of it. I don't have the time to look at a viable business model surrounding it at this time.
Love the concept though.
Seeing how messy and tedious maintenance is, I wouldn't. and the printed final product is "textured" because of the melting and hardening in layers. Also it usually take 9 HR plus to print a palm sized object, depending on complexity.
Should I need a unique object that requires printing, I will probably rent from my buddy ( he runs workshops teaching school kids)
Definitely. I want to learn to 3d model first, though.
I plan to learn to do that and make 3d models for DnD miniatures to sell and use in my own campaigns.
It's a fairly far off purchase for me right now, though.

But it's only worth considering in my opinion if you're getting a carbon 3d printer, or something that compares or bests it.
I would if the material used for printing is recycled plastic. Anyways, I'm not sure the production would cause any harm to our health? Melting plastic > Fume > Dioxin? I have to research more.
Possibly, I think eventually they could become a household accessory like normal printers are now, but there is still a lot of work to be done in improving them.
Future? If the price goes down why not?
But definitely not now and not when the price is beyond the means or the income it could generate commercially.
Yes, I have considered it.
Question is, would you use it? And I don't mean finding cool things on-line to print out for fun.
Lol... I bought one and I still haven't fired it up I put it together but I don't have any 3D drawings of what I want to print so I need a 3D scanner also
Yeah, I’m actually looking at getting one soon. Probably an anycubic but I’m also looking at an elegoo Mars
yes i am already thinking of buying one the only thing stopping me is that i'm worried they might be complicated to use. I'd love to use them to build my own custom figures, i especially like detailed palm sized rare tanks and i can't find them often
Absolutely. If they can make one which could make use of a range of materials, all I need are the parameters of the part I want and I could have it for a fraction of the cost of buying it from a manufacturer.
I already have a reprap 3d printer and a commercial one.
Rarely get to use them now as am busy with other projects.
While it would be great to have to make a few things I DO need, I need so few that it would not justify the expense of the start-up costs.
Not for private use. But within my profession it could be very useful.
Yes, to print myself a girlfriend.
I’m not sure what I’d do with it, but they’re super cool. Too expensive for me either way though, like most cool technology...
Nah, it's cool but I'd almost never use it except for the first few times. I don't rlly have a need for one either, tho if I just had a bunch of money to waste and throw away then maybe.
Possibly in the future if I ever have a use for one.
yes id make firing pins for guns and manifacture my own firearms
Well maybe not for a while...
At the moment they are a financial opportunity
I think a 2d printer should be a priority for me right now as I don't own one
They will be everywhere and most homes will have one
