It’s kind of creepy now with all the updates and if you read everything on how they can access your information going deeper into the data
There’s a lot Tik tok people that are exposing the new highly improved update on Instagram they’re making it just like tik tok in some way. I really don’t like it but then again I’m not really on Instagram some it doesn’t really affect me but I still have an account so I might delete it
Tik tok has blown up I think Instagram knows a lot of people are on their and they needed to improve so they changed it to be almost like tik tok so they wouldn’t loose people. But even big celebrities are saying they hate the new update it’s affected a lot of people. A lot of people are going stop using it for many different reasons.
I don't really find it creepy. Your "data" hasn't been safe since you were born, neither has your parents for a majority of their lives if they live in a developed country.Advertising agencies have been doing market research for a very long time. Sending people door to door, collecting cencus data, putting promotions in magazines which require you send some personal info "an address, full name etc) and then send you a prize or coupon or something, sometimes you could even pick and that choice in of itself is info that can be sold.If anything, technology has made it safer and more anonymous. These companies don't have people sorting through these submissions, they're automatically logged. They don't care about you Sara Smith (or whatever your name is) they care about how many people who live in a certain area make over 30,000 and are between the ages of 18 and 35, how many are football fans, how many have done a search for skin products etc. What kinds of restaurantsare people going to, how old are they? Are the Hispanics going to that new Mexican place or is it just the white people? All this stuff let's these companies make targeted ads. You matly have heard of them before but they're not a feature for you, they're a selling point advertising companies use to get more business.Traditionally ad campaigns are sold by viewership. You want an ad on the superbowl? Who's watching? Well we kinda know but not really it's gonna cost (some ludicrous amount of cash)
Now on Instagram it's a little different "oh you sell pocket knives and want to advertise? OK well show your ad to x number of people for x dollers, and we're only gonna show it to people who make so and so amount of money, live in areas where your marketing team feels people are known to carry pocket knives and it's gonna be much cheaper. The idea is that even though you're showing your ads to less people you've increased the percentage of people who are going to "react well" and "convert" to a paying customer. So you get more anonymity, and the large companies save millions of dollers while generating a much higher ROI per doller spent on advertising.
