350000 of those homeless in germany are refugees and many of them are in hostels so thats what swayed the figures
@wankiam considering that the U. S takes in over a million immigrants a year, I'm not inclined to think that a medium sized city's worth of people make THAT much of a difference
@wankiam https://youtu.be/8pKhIJRevd0Its in the first 20 seconds of the video
consider the per capita figures and the fact many migrants into the us dont register and im not so sure but regardless of any of that all countries need to address homelessness... we have seen huge hikes in numbers in the uk since we got a tory government
i read 650000 for germany and without the refugees that are mostly in hostels thats more like half that figure but its still far too many and difficult to fathom as germany has one of the best social housing schemes and rent regulation in the world. so much so its unusual to buy a house there as most people rent for life
@wankiam any Irish-American in Boston will tell you of the dangers of a conservative government because at least one of their cousins ended up coming over to America because the Bitch Thatcher sold their council house from them.I'm a Gun loving Socialist from America with Irish Ancestry, you don't need to tell me the dangers of Conservativism on either side of the pond.
well as i always say, this is a public forum so anyone can see my thoughts.. whilst im chatting with you im also aware others might not understand points we are making... also its unusual to find an American socialist so the law of misinformed averages was at play lol... i get so used to a certain rissy character i forget someone on your side of the pond must have some sense lol
@wankiam you must not be aware of The Kentucky Coal Wars, The Appalachian Coal Wars, or most importantly, The Battle of Blair Mountain, the largest labor uprising in the history modern western Civ.I'm fairly active in the Socialist Rifle Association subreddit for a reason
im more interested i whats going on coal wise in australia at the moment as the populus is protesting while the government open up the biggest mine in the world and then there's another i didn't know about until recently but back to germany there's a huge open cast mining concern thats swallowing up villages at a huge rate but the german government have been trying to cover up
@wankiam Redneck literally comes from Armed Union Miners, who took their Revolvers, their hunting rifles, or their fowling piece double barrel shotguns and took Mingo County by force, they took the trains, they took the roads, and it ended in a battle at Blair Mountain where a conservative government sent in the national guard but got the Union men an Socialists so much good press that their noble goals got accomplished, This was because of Gun ownership which you Brits tried to stop us, and yes yes gun owning socialists. To this day, you can dig machine gun bullets out of that mountain in west Virginia
so i thought the term red necks came from white field workers who were bent over all day so got red necks but yeah i can see the whole gun thing is different in america and whilst it alarms me here in knife territory i can't begin to come up with any answers to that particular argument on your side of the pond. what i am starting to see though is similar unrest to what you describe but on a global scale

I’ve been to Cali. I’m looking for places to go to for my masters in law. But that’ll be a few years later. I’ve only ever visited the US on vacation so I’m wondering how it is to actually live there
