I'm working on Spanish and French now
I'd be interested in learning all the others except Russian really
Italian and Portugese would be easier to learn for me than German because they're very similar to Spanish and Spanish and French are both romance languages. English is my first language, so maybe German would be easier for me than for some, but it definitely seems more difficult than Portugese, Italian, Spanish, and maybe even French but not sure. These are all countries I've been to as well or would like to visit again/revisit. (Except Germany, haven't been there yet.)
Definitely Russian because, let's face it, together with Chinese, Russian is on the verge to become one of the dominating languages in the world and replacing English as main trading language in the future.
However, Spanish is a close 3rd because the language is spoken in such a variety of countries worldwide that it makes sense to know the rudiments of the language in order to be able to express yourself in a large part of the world.
To be fair, I believe that there are Spanish and Turkish versions of this site as well.
KizlarSoruyor. com & EllasSaben. com
I think Hindi would also become a dominant and influential language as well.
I think the third most dominating language after English and Mandarin would probably be Arabic but that is just my impression
@theChineseWASP Arabic is a very wide spectrum and one has to be cautious with naming those languages arabic.
Farsi, which is spoken in Iran is not at all the same language as Arabic from Algeria and even though both idioms sound similar to us, an Persian and an Algerian will not be able to communicate.
Oh yeah I know Farsi is completely different. I like Iranian culture personally so I make sure people know the difference hee hee
Honestly none of those pique my interest. If I had to learn a language I would want to learn latin (as I tend to be interested in a lot of older works and most were written in latin plus since latin is the basis of a lot of langauges or influenced them it would be more then likely a good jumping off point to learn other languages like Italian, if that is what I wanted). Though if I had a gun to my head, I'd say Spanish (seems like I would get the most use out of it).
Russian would open more doors for me than the others, mainly because I either know enough of them to get by, or they're spoken in places where English is reasonably widely known.
Lots of places where Russian is the lingua franca, English doesn't get you very far, and I have felt I'd get more out of them, if I had some Russian.

I'd like to learn German (and Japanese) for academic reasons, I'm studying to become an industrial maintenance engineer since most industrials were I live import their production machines from Germany I need to be able to read their diagrams and plans to understand their operating system and function.
Yes they do come with an English documentation as well but if it's lost, it's impossible to work, you'll have to just rely on experience and if you don't have or the equipment is just too complex well you're done for.
Spanish, because it's the most useful. Italian is only spoken in essentially three countries (well four with San Marino). All German people speak English with very few exceptions. Portuguese is only spoken in two countries. French is pretty widely used, but I already learned French when I was in Morocco and I just don't like it haha. Russian is also widely used, and that would be a cool language to learn, but I don't really want to go to many countries that speak Russian. Spanish is spoken in a lot of places, and I definitely want to go to some. I was already in Spain once.
I already know how to speak French though certainly wouldn't mind improving.
As for new languages, I'd be most interested in learning Russian. I'm already fluent in Polish and there's a lot of similarities between the two languages so I feel like I'd already have an upperhand if I chose that one. 🤓
Spanish. Put with English and I can speak with more than half of all people in the world. Yeah I know. Mandarin and Cantonese. But China's arc as a shooting star is over because of the ChiCom's love of death...70 million in the 20th century, the One Child policy with its millions of abortions and Covid19. China will be irrelevant in 15 years leaving the USA and India as mutually respectful super powers. And the Indians are learning English.
You don't want to learn any languages for cultural
interest though like Irish Gaelic or something?
Personally, I'd like to learn Russian (cool-sounding), Spanish (the language of the Philippine's founding documents, great literature, etc.), and/or U. K. English (which sounds so much better than many other Englishes).
I speak German.
It would be worthwhile learning Spanish eventually. Wanna do some business with some muchachos and comprar some YaYo and pay them with Monero 😍
And then having some recreación with a puta or two :D
Russian, cause it sounds like a really cool and interesting language. I don't like how Spanish and portuguese sound, I despise french because you can literally just guess how to pronounce words, and I know a little italian and it's not quite thaaat amazing.
I think it worthwhile to learn French because I believe that they will yet again be the dominant power of Europe by the end of this century. Germany is heading towards the cliff-edge and Britain is a shadow of the shadow of it's former self.
I'm, spaniard. So Spanish get discarded. German is interesting, however I voted French. There is a film school in Paris that I like. Would be nice to make a course there in the future.
Spanish I know, but I'd like to know French since it's a beautiful language. German too I've studied, I would perhaps like to learn Russian but I'd probably prefer Italian.
I would say French. You already know English and French is spoken in a lot of countries.
I love Spanish, I've been learning it but French is still more dominant than Spanish.
Romance languages for the win! I love Portuguese and French personally.
I know it’s kind of useless but I love romance culture haha... specifically Portugal or the South of France...
Russian and Italian. I already speak the other three at varying skill levels.
German, because its part of my heritage and a lot of interesting history happened there . I also like how the language is more logical and self descriptive than English
a lot of people call into my work speaking Spanish and we have to decode id get a pay raise too..
ma räägin juba eesti keelt piisavalt hästi, et sellest mööda saada-ich kann aber auch ein wenig deutsch sprechen.
Is that Finnish? I’m impressed, Grüße aus österreich!
@tallandsweet Nein, nicht Finnish -Rather Estonian, a very very close cousin to Finnish-I spoke fluent Eesti keel when i was a little girl. We live in Estonia still at least a couple of months/year at our family property. Danke für die Grüße!
@tallandsweet I just thought how serendiptious it is that I was just now-this second-looking at the Via ferrata in Austria on youtube.
Ah, alright! unfortunately, I'm not at all familiar with estonian/latvian/finnish etc. and how to distinguish between them.
I’m interested in most of them lol. But I chose French.
Spanish would most likely be more useful, but if I would go and live in the country to learn it. I would pick french.
Because Germany is a good place to find jobs and to get good education!
I know french
Spanish and italian equal ranking of interest
after it german
then russian
then portuguese
Russian's such a badass language! I'd really love to speak Danish, though. I love Scandinavian furniture and I would love to be able to read design blogs that are written in Danish.
