A few years ago I woke up in the middle of the night and went to my balcony and the sky was lit up with northern lights. I was totally stunned since I've never seen them before and that's not supposed to happen in southern Finland. I'd definitely want to see them again, it looks really amazing.
It's been on my bucket list for a while now. I might try to go in March. The biggest challenge is basically that it's hard to travel somewhere to see the northern lights, and it's not always easy to know what kinds of things there are to do during the day in these very remote northern towns
Its something I never realized others couldn't see as I've seen them my whole life. When you whistle, they seem to move. Thank you for the reminder to appreciate things we have
Yep. Southern, too, if I could pull it off. Ideally, I'd go and see them without that pesky atmosphere getting in the way; the pictures I've seen of them from space are nothing short of jaw-dropping. That's not realistically going to happen, though.

@midnightmoon05 and I talked about that, have long list of places to see. this looks fun. not so sure the reality of the freezing cold there. Until then, just walk under the moon and stars.

Have done. Went to Norway in 2019. The pictures are a little deceiving, you dont see it that clearly. We ended up having to cross the Finish border chasing them on a cold night. Good experience
If you live in Minnesota or a similar latitude then you don't have to go anywhere. Just looking up at the summer night sky in July. That's when I first saw them.

I'd love to. They are called the aurora borealis and there is also a south pole equivalent called the aurora australis which I would equally love to see.
I did and they weren't there! I went to Fairbanks, Alaska last October... Stayed in a town called North Pole near the Air Base where I had a job to do... and damn if they never freaking showed. So disappointed!
They are beautiful, if you're planning in taking a girl make sure its a clear sky every night when you're there or she won't be able to see the beauty in the sky !

I don't have to go anywhere to see the northern lights. All I do is look up on a clear night in the winter. Even some nights in the middle of summer the put on a display.

I'd love to! Looks like it would be nice to watch while cuddling over some hot chocolate or something.
