If Sleeping Beauty is banned because it teaches "consent doesn't matter", then should other movies, TV shows, and books be banned as well for un-moralistic behavior? Yes it is unrealistic, but that is just it, it is only a story, not to be taken literally.
I guess the guy should have let the poor woman stay asleep forever rather than kiss her without her consent.
LOL women are so strange. A person could shit on my face if it saved me from being asleep forever. I'd get on my fucking knees and blow/eat out them as thanks.. after a loooong shower.
Uh oh... release the social justice warriors. We should also ban Tom and Jerry cartoons for promoting unnecessary violence. You might as well throw in every other television show ever produced, because they all fall in that category.
Even though these same types were literally cheering for Heroes when it first hit TV, for being such a "progressive" show for its time. Now, suddenly, they realize that Sylar is disgusting? A bit late in the game, guys.
I mean by that margin shouldn't TV shows like Breaking Bad and Prison Break be also banned? I mean both teach that if you can't get what you want through official systems, then you should just break the law to get your way.
the real story of this is depressing and contains rape

NO. This movie has been around for ages, and why would it be the cause of it? people are perverts and pedophiles has NOTHING ever to do with this movie...
It has a lot more to do with the fact that Kinsey is still the standard in screwls for teaching kids ANYTHING about sex, that curricula sexualize kids WAY too early, that kids in some homes (especially poor ones) are sexually taken advantage of by their parents (or their parents' swinger partners), and develop screwed-up views on life that way, etc.
In fact, look at most really infamous serial killers. Note how their mothers lived - in front of them. No regard for decency, no concern for the kid's mental health and safety, sometimes equals monster when they reach adulthood.
But rather than condemn swinger clubs or casual sex for the damage these lifestyles inflict... let's pick on a random cartoon from the 1950s.
People today are ultra reactionary idiots who say things like this to wield power in society. Her children should be removed from her and she should be horsewhipped back to reality
Being Human means using intuition, trusting yourself. So much of our lives are non verbal, then again I haven't really seen the movie, did he know her before he did this?
OMG... it is a fucking story. You want to whine about a story when you have all the sexual predators in your party? Starting with Clinton... you libs defended him and degraded his victims. Now you want to get self righteous with a Disney story? Save it.
Do you really want to go there? Like I said... Bill Clinton was a sexual predator and you all defended him and called his victims bimbos. Hillary did. And she is suppose to be for women's rights and then you voted to put this evil woman in office. Hippocrates every liberal that voted and supported her.
I don't know why so many people have downvoted this answer. They have clearly never picked up a copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales. Most of them are downright creepy.
@Rissyanne Who's hysterical? All I'm saying is that there are some very creepy, disturbing, and dark parts to some of those stories. They are not people's idea of a magical, romantic fairy tale with a happily ever after.
@Rissyanne I think you're misunderstanding my comments. I'm not against these stories. Though I do think parents have a responsibility to provide some context if young children are reading them.
@Rissyanne No, but that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on how to address this topic with children. It's a changing world and although I don't believe in too much censoring, I do believe that talking to children about important topics is a really meaningful way to ensure that they take the right messages away when they're exposed to controversial content. That's what my parents did with me, and I'm really glad they did. I'm not going to hide these stories from my children, but I am going to talk to them about the issues that the stories bring up, so that they can learn to think critically and develop their own morals and values.
@samhradh_leannan "but I am going to talk to them about the issues that the stories bring up, so that they can learn to think critically and develop their own morals and values" That was your quote...
Why would you try to talk about an "imaginary sexual thing " to your future kids in the first place? I mean why we have to take away the innocence of the simplest things our children is watching? don't you think that's wrong in the first place to talk about these imaginary things to a child?
@WTFliberals Teaching them good morals and values, and critical thinking about relevant issues, is not taking away their innocence. Preparing your child to be an effective person in society is your job as a parent. I'm not going to avoid that just to shelter them. Now obviously the exact treatment of this will depend a lot on their age. But it is never too early to instill good values in your children.
@samhradh_leannan I never said not teaching a good values ! and you didn't answer my question !!! Why bring the sexual subjects to the children in the first place?
@WTFliberals I already specified that how this gets handled will depend on their age. Dude. You need to take a chill pill. I never said anything about raising sexual topics with children. I don't know where you got that idea.

I agree: it's completely idiotic.
Only a sick perverted mind would think this. Just like "baby it's cold outside," how evil with the thinking it's a rape date song.
No, it shouldn't be banned. That lady is being ridiculous.
That's the most ridiculous thing. Anyone would think the majority of people don't have common sense sometimes.
People today are ultra reactionary idiots who say things like this to wield power in society. Her children should be removed from her and she should be horsewhipped back to reality
I think its really ridiculous !!!
The fact that someone like her is thinking of this as a sexual thing really disturbing. Only people with perverted minds reach that conclusion.
The UK is a great example of when a country commits suicide. Short answer?
FUCK NO
Reminds me of the headlines of people wanting to ban Harry Potter for sorcery.
it's just a cartoon... have we had any cases of any young boys sleep raping their crushes?
Oh hell no don't blame prince Phillip he the hottest disney prince!
Being Human means using intuition, trusting yourself. So much of our lives are non verbal, then again I haven't really seen the movie, did he know her before he did this?
If you examine them closely, most of these "children's tales" are ugly stories.
They are stories.. that has been around for years and years. How is all of a sudden offensive? It is ridiculous.
@Rissyanne because people told them without thinking about hidden implications and because Freud didn't formulate modern psychology yet.
So what... you can't change history. What is the big deal? It is a story... that is it. Stop making something out of nothing.
@Rissyanne You can't change history, indeed. But there's no need to repeat historical mistakes.
Sorry I dont think Sleeping Beauty was a mistake. That is just stupid.
@Rissyanne It justifies kissing a sleeping girl IF... the guy is a prince.
If you were asleep and Trump kissed you?
OMG... it is a fucking story. You want to whine about a story when you have all the sexual predators in your party? Starting with Clinton... you libs defended him and degraded his victims. Now you want to get self righteous with a Disney story? Save it.

@samhradh_leannan omg they are stories
What disturbing is you overthinking it in that way !
You guys have clearly never picked up a copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales.
@samhradh_leannan sis yes I have. It’s no big deal.. no need for hysteria
@Rissyanne Who's hysterical? All I'm saying is that there are some very creepy, disturbing, and dark parts to some of those stories. They are not people's idea of a magical, romantic fairy tale with a happily ever after.
@samhradh_leannan ITS A STORY
@Rissyanne I think you're misunderstanding my comments. I'm not against these stories. Though I do think parents have a responsibility to provide some context if young children are reading them.
@samhradh_leannan Do you have children?
@Rissyanne No, but that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on how to address this topic with children. @samhradh_leannan Then when you have children you do that.
@Rissyanne I plan to.
@samhradh_leannan "but I am going to talk to them about the issues that the stories bring up, so that they can learn to think critically and develop their own morals and values"
That was your quote...

@WTFliberals I never said I was going to bring up sexual subjects. I honestly don't know what you're even talking about at this point.
@samhradh_leannan you clearly overthinking it ! and thats not good to you or your future children.
Ofcourse you should teaching them good values and morals... but at the same time teach them things that is appropriate to their age.
@WTFliberals I already specified that how this gets handled will depend on their age. Dude. You need to take a chill pill. I never said anything about raising sexual topics with children. I don't know where you got that idea.
so what about women who wake men up with blow jobs?
www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q2792336-is-sucking-dick-when-he-s-asleep-rape
Not the same, she's not a man.
doesn't matter. she's a woman, waking up a MAN, with a BJ
@azzntittiz Hypocrite !
exactly
It's a kiss to break a magic spell, isn't that entirely appropriate? She was cured to sleep forever, it makes perfect sense.
