I am referring to children of illegal immigrants who have been raised here. For example, if there is an eighteen year old who was born here and is starting college, I don't think they should be deported because of their parents' actions. They didn't have a choice to travel, and they are likely to only be fluent in English and American culture.If you mean an illegal immigrant coming here to have a baby and the baby is not given citizenship then I understand.

Right but we can't help everybody especially when we aren't helping Americans who are born here. Even if these illegals end up deported we still hold them give them board and free meals and guess who we are not doing that for? Our homeless and it is wrong.

@Soultaker333 ummmm... last I checked we give as minimal amount of aid to anyone on American soil as possible, citizens and non citizens. If they want to come here for work and/or to get out of dangerous neighborhoods where they could get hurt, who cares?
Then they can apply like everyone else you are acting like we are saying we don't want immigrants here we do we just want them to do it legally go through the process make sure they will not be a problem

The 14th Amendment is one of the "Reconstruction Amendments". It was originally intended to guarantee the citizenship of the children of former slaves. It's been twisted far beyond it's original intent. Unfortunately, the only way to undo it is to get CONgress to repeal it, and good luck with that. An Executive Order ending auto-citizenship might be enough to draw attention to how the amendment is being abused, and get some 'debate' going in CONgress, but ultimately it won't go anywhere. The democommies want the votes of those illegals, and the rethuglicunts want cheap labor for their owners (CEO's and the idle rich). So an EO might stop the auto-citizenship for a couple months, until Soros and his minions get a lawsuit going, but in the end the illegals will continue to get welfare handouts and citizenship if they want it thanks to them whelping their spawn on US soil and it gaining Insta-Citizenship.
He's not overturning Constitutional amendment, just altering the interpretation.Personally, I think Congress should edit the amendment to close-off the possibility.
@N192K001 overturning or amending is still never done with executive order but through introducing a bill to amend the constitution.allowing a president to start altering the constitution via executive order is effectively paving the way to authoritarian and dictatorship style governance

No Blue Anonymous not necessarily if we get a Democrat president and he doesn't have enough votes to change it or if he does have enough votes then it goes back in front of the supreme court they are conservatives and will override him so this is definitely happening and staying a law

No but Ginsberg is old she won't be on there forever and if she leaves anytime during Trumps term or terms whatever happens he will simply get another conservative confirmed so it probably would not get reversed and by the time they have the power to reverse it so much time will pass they won't even care about it anymore

I'm almost certain that he's only doing this to get his base fired up so they'll go out and vote. My guess is that a week from now, after the election, we won't hear any more about it (like quite a few other things that he's talked about doing and then dropped). Even many Republicans seem to agree that he can't do that without a Constitutional amendment. I'm sure he knows he can't, but he's a master of manipulation of his disciples and doesn't care at all about the truth.

He can't remove an amendment to the Constitution, but he can change the official interpretation thereof using the opposing interpretation used during the 14th Amendment's ratification.Section 1 (「All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.」)'s "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" clause was purposefully ambiguous to exclude foreign-national diplomats and Native Americans (citizens of their own tribal nation), but include the ex-slaves (citizens of their/their ancestors' tribal nations).While that is legally possible, I would prefer if the Legislature were to actually DO THEIR JOB by actually LEGISLATING a clearer version of the text.
