Christmas, Christmas, * I don't know why spell check changed it to Christimas the first time lol
It's changing X - mas for me into Christmas. This is annoying
Well remember one thing about Thanksgiving and thsts that it's really more like a harvest festival like in Europe, it was brought by the pilgrims. It actually has little to do with what happened to native Americans.
Last year 200 elves were attacked
By adults, or children?Either way, it won't have been because of any mythical war on Christmas.
@goaded eĺves are on the frontline
I just hope they don't lose their health insuraance.
@goaded no they buy their own
Good point. It's like if one store stopped selling an item and people suddenly freaked out and thought the country was banning the item. If there was a war on Christmas we'd be kicking in the doors of anyone celebrating. Even if it is removed from being recognized as a national holiday people are still free to celebrate it and companies can still advertise for it. Some people are too up in easily angered by it in my opinion.
@devilman666 Exactly! I haven’t even heard a single suggestion about removing Christmas as a national holiday. No one is forcing anyone to say Happy Holidays they are just saying let’s try to be more inclusive. People whine any time they feel like their loosing a bit of their privilege even when they aren’t. Walmart putting up a sign that says Happy Holidays in order to include their customers who don’t celebrate Christmas isn’t a war on Christmas. Christmas is included in that Happy Holidays. The slight change in phrasing doesn’t change that they’ve had Christmas decorations up since November and that they bring in thousands of fake trees every year.
I agree Ramadan, Yom Kippur and chineese new year need to be more inclusive of other cultures and religions.
@whitepanther good job at utterly ignoring what she said. Maybe I can clarify? What (I think) she was trying to say was that since Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and multiple traditions for celebrating new years all in the same time span of about 3 weeks, it's easier and kinder to just say happy holidays and then not worry about what days they choose to celebrate.
@coralee I agree. Hope I didn't change your meaning when trying to explain it. Honestly I think this is more of a religious issue then anything else. Christians do this kind of thing pretty often, proclaiming a war on christianity at every opportunity. They love feeling persecuted but they are the ones who do the persecuting. http://time.com/4385755/faith-in-america/I think in their minds it's like fighting to save christianity and "it's traditions", by trying to force people and companies to be inclusive only for them. Can you imagine if Starbucks started putting "happy ramadan" on their cups? Christian's would lose it and half of christian American's would claim starbucks supported terrorism.
Holy shit I'm totally correct lol read this:www.washingtonpost.com/.../?utm_term=.1aee75436abaOr dont, here is the part that interested me:' “It’s not just about a cup,” he explained in an e-mail to The Washington Post. “The cup is symbolic of a larger war against Christianity in this country. The policemen of political correctness have demanded that the silent majority bend its knee to a vocal minority.” 'It totally is just a religious things. This guys claimed they removed christ and Christmas from the cups because they hate Jesus. Christians want to have everyone appease to them and their religion, they want to persecute (by forcing only their religious symbols and texts to be promoted by companies and the government) all other religions and if they aren't allowed to do this then they feel persecuted.
@devilman666 Oh no you completely got exactly what I was trying to say. Once I get going it's hard to stop me though lol. I could rant all day about the ridiculousness of "The War on Christmas." And I say this as someone who grew up Christian and absolutely loves Christmas.
@coralee same, except for growing up christian. It's like if people wished you happy valentines day for an two weeks leading up to it, even on chinese new year. It's not that anyone wants Christmas to be more inclusive, (which is simply silly, as there is no argument to be made about Christmas not being inclusive, anyone who wants to participate in the festive season can) rather the argument is that Christmas is exclusive and cuts in with other holidays.
Seriously, why do we even wish a merry Christmas on days that are not Christmas/christmas eve? When was the last time you were told "happy halloween" on October 11th? For nearly a month it takes front stage in the west, advertised in almost all stores, talked about and prepared for by most people, and celebrated early by many with all kinds of (often work related) Christmas parties throughout the month. But there is supposedly a war on it because some people don't want to be wished "merry christmas" when they're celebrating hanukkah two weeks before.
@devilman666 I don't even think it's really about people not wanting to be wished Merry Christmas when they are celebrating different holidays. I think it started out with businesses noticing the growing diversity of their customer base and wanting to be more welcoming. That tiny change in saying Happy Holidays makes people celebrating other religious holidays feel acknowledged. Acknowledged customers spend more money.
Thank you so much for the MHO.

Who is forcing anyone at gun point?
You don’t have to do it at gunpoint, a government official should not be using my tax dollars to erect religious symbols, especially when I don’t adhere to that religion. Again, if the state was taking my money and erecting some statue for Ramadan, or hanging the Hadith’s in our courthouse I’d have a problem with it. Similarly we shouldn’t have government officials erecting scenes of Mary, Joseph and Jesus in a manger. Our teachers shouldn’t be leading our children in praying 5 times a day towards Mecca and they shouldn’t be forcing our children to pray at all. If an individual or a politician wishes to do that sort of stuff on their own time with their own money (and not on government property) then more power to them.
Well we live in a democracy so if the government chooses to honor the religious or cultural traditions of the majority of its voters that sounds fair to me. If a religious private school that gains parental consent to teach the kids religion and how to pray I say that's fair.Atheists are in the majority yet most are happy to accept and take part in Christian religions and cultural events.
You’re American aren’t you? We’re not a democracy, we’re a republic. Democracy is known as tyranny of the masses and you should be happy we don’t live in one or Hillary would be president, Kavanaugh would be arrested as a rapist, and a lot of other bad things that happen. Democracy is mob rule and it’s not what we want because we recognize that if we’re ever in the minority we want the same protections that all citizens deserve. Also note that your argument is that if Islam becomes more popular than Christianity then you’re tax dollars would go to establishing their religious symbols, that your children would be forced to celebrate their holidays. I don’t think you’d really want that. As for atheists practicing Christian holidays... sure? I mean figuring out “who’s holiday is it really?” Is a rather silly task. Christmas, and Easter for example are pagan holidays. Christmas wreathes, the Christmas tree, the date, presents, the easterbunny, painting eggs, etc are all pagan symbols—
I practice these as an individual who’s family partakes in these practices. What I as an individual citizen do, should not be mandatory for everyone or endorsed by politicians in an official capacity. The private school issue is more complex.
Wrong we are a federal republic which is a type of democracy. Governments rule with consent of the people otherwise it's a democracy.
There are different types of democracy yes. And we’re not a true-blue democracy, again, neither of us would want to live in one.
No such thing as a true blue democracy unless you time travel to ancient Athens
Yes, but your argument that as a democracy the predominant religion should have access to public funds for erecting symbols and being promoted by public figures is arguing to the masses. I say we just adhere to our constitutional rights and when we see violations (from the majority or minority) we fight against it.
Nowhere in the constitution does it say that city and town councils can't put up Christian decorations.
It’s interpreted from the establishment clause in the first amendment. “Separation of church and state” which Jefferson expounded upon to the baptists of Danbury ensuring them that “there will forever be a wall of separation between church and state.”
There's no church in city or town councils organising Christmas decorations, they do it on their own accord to promote buisness and for their constituents.
Politicians take public funding to erect religious symbols. That is not a separation. Now, as I said, if individuals or businesses wish to erect these instead it is fine. The only stipulation then would be to make sure it’s not on government property as it would then be a tacit endorsement.
Yes it is separation of church and state as no church has any say, its done by elected officials voted in by people who support their actions.Goverment property belongs to the nation ie the voting taxpayers.
That’s a baffling way to look at it. The caliphate then, in your opinion, was fine because no specific mosque controlled it? “The Church” is a set of ideas it’s skmply referencing that religion will not be endorsed by or dictate policy. That is not the case when you have religious icons being funded by the state. Those taxpayers are welcome to do what they wish on their private property, they are not welcome to disregard the constitution just because they happen to be a majority. I am also a taxpayer and I do not want any religious symbols to be funded by my taxes. If you take my money and do it anyway you are the tyrannical one.
The caliphate ran the state, no church does. Those taxpayers are in the majority and voted for it so you know. You are in the majority, if you want to make your voice heard vote.
1) my point is that the caliphate was not a specific church, they were leaders who used their religion to inform policy. Here you’re talking about doing the same with whichever religion happens to be in power.2) I am in the minority yes, that does not mean I should lose my rights. That’s the whole point of us be a republic. I don’t understand why you disagree. We’ve made moves in the past where we ruled that we didn’t care what the majority thought, the rights of our citizens supersede the whims of the majority. That’s fundamental to our system.
In the caliphate the leader was the head of Islam. No one is taking your rights, you voted and lost.
First amendment separation of church and state can’t be revoked just because your religion is dominant
But church and state are desperate, the church isn't involved in any way.
The church is a set of ideas, it’s not a reference to a building.
For some odd reason gag has removed the ability to click on a picture to enlarge it, so just in case:https://imgur.com/i9UxZE5
I have trouble posting pictures and memes. They always appear as links
it has nothing to do with Jesus
It's up to your generation to stop facilitating your own invasion.
@Reggieray Thats correct. The revolution will come dont worry. I'm working on it.
That's the problem
Not for me it isn't.
You don't have much of a sense of humor. But please spare me your version of Christianity. Jesus wasn't a racist.LOLx10!!!
Just trying to raise your spirit, I know you've been going through some stuff. No Jesus was so please don't start with your jewish racial stereotyping of jesus bad enough you tried it with me.https://youtu.be/k-W2Bkz_Rno
Wait. . . saying that Jesus was not a racist is stereotyping Jewish people. You are really far gone. . .:D
No but mentioning Jewish sterotypes would be like how you kept mentioning Slavic racial stereotypes.
Right, what is the racist stereotype about Slavic peoples who are not a race? There are four races in classic race theory, "White", "Yellow", "Red", and "Black".Or Caucasoid, Negroid, Monogliod, and Amerind. That's why the theory was so horrible. It didn't even cover most of Humanity.
Saying Slavic people are not a race is racist, using 18th century racial descriptions is racist.
Nah, saying that a person is racist because he says Slavs are not a race. . .is insane.:D
Oh just so you know. Science finally arrived at the conclusion that your fruity idea of race does not exist.Just thought you might want to catch up to 21st century genetics.
Yeah the Nazis who you admire employed racial pseudo science to prove their points too.
You believe in race. Why do you accuse me of believing in your nonsense?Oh. . .Because you are a fake racist troll.I keep forgetting that. You are not a real person. You created this online persona. And you are a coward.Prove me wrong.
You can't deal with your problems in life so you project them onto me, but I cement help you only a proffessional can help you with your problems that manifest as racism.
You are a fraud.You are a fake.You are a liar.And you are a coward.You claim to be Slav?Prove me wrong.
You can't deal with your problems in life so you project them onto me, but I can not help you only a trained proffessional can help you with your problems that manifest as racism.
You are a fake online personality.Prove me wrong. You have no courage my friend. You are a coward. You are scared. And you are pathetic. You know this to be true.
You can't deal with your problems in life so you project them onto me, but I can not help you only a trained proffessional can help you with your problems that manifest as racism. You will never be ok until you seek help.
You are a fake online troll.Prove me wrong.I can put my cards on the table at any time. You cannot. Because you are a fake and a fraud.
You are a lying racist troll. And again, you created this persona. You are a fake and you are a fraud. You cannot prove me wrong, because I just told a basic simple truth. If it were not true, you would have proven me wrong long ago.
@RolandCuthbert Your hatred of other races is so apparent though you try to pretend you are not racist. It's sad really.
You are a fraud. You are a fake. And you are a lying coward.Prove me wrong.
I dont get why your so mad at me just because I'm a Slav. I hope you find a solution to whatever is bothering you in your life and I hope that one day you meet that imaginary white coincidently Slavic woman you've been imagining about.
You are a fake online troll.Prove me wrong.Don't talk about my feelings. Provide proof.:DYou can't. You are a fake.
I hope you find a solution to whatever is bothering you in your life and I hope that one day you meet that imaginary white coincidently Slavic woman you've been imagining about.
You are a fake online troll spreading "Whtie" nationalism.Prove me wrong. Are women in Southeast Asia still thinking "White" dick is gold?
I'm sorry you have a racist inferiority complex because im white and you have problem with non-white women dating a white man like me for some reason. It's a good job I didn't mention African women treated me the same on a trip a few years ago to Nambia. It's 2018 nobody cares that's why you gotta drop the racist crap.
Racist I have no problem with race. I don't believe in it. As for actual intercultural relations. I am all for it.I am just asking you about your statements. You said that SouthEast Asian women treated your dick like it was gold. Are there any racist stereotypes in your statement?:D
You have no problem with race except for slavs and other white people's.No there are no racist sterotypes only a statement of fact of how women in South East Asia treated me "as if my penis was made of gold".
You are not answering the question. Is it racist to say SouthEast Asian women treated your dick like it was gold?I am just asking you to apply your own weird definition of racism to your statement.
The women I hooked up with and dated did, thats a statement of fact, it would be no more racist than say if I went to Manhattan last week and they treated me as if my dick was made of gold.
So I could say Slavic women treated my dick it was gold and it would not be racist or offensive? You are not a Slav.If I dared say some nonsense like that in Latvia or Russia, I would get pummeled. And I am not even talking about the men.You see, you are a fake.
Depends is it true?See that's a racist sterotype you have of slavs, you think thst deep down they are racist because you are racist.
Nah, no self-respecting Slavic women would even date a man saying something similar. It isn't even attempting to be common sense Slavic culture (s).
See that's a racial stereotype of slavs you have that we don't allow our women to date outside our race.
This is proof you are a fake trollSlavic women date out all the time.Find me the Slavic woman who would date a man who believe Slavic women treat his dick like gold?:D Do we have any other Slavic members at GaG? Let's find them, shall we?:D Let me go
Your the one saying Slavic women don't date out because of your racism. Why will you be racist to other slaves and call them Nazis too?
We are going to find our other Russian or Slavic members and ask them some questions about my supposed racism. . . and whether or not a Slavic person would be offended by;"Slavic women think my dick made out of gold."We are going test your theory, because you and I both know you are a fake.
And you think the speak for the millions of individuals slavs.
You just called me a racist for saying that Slavic women would be offended if a man said that Slavic women thought his dick was made of gold. We are going test that theory.:D
With your duplicate account no doubt lol
Nope. I am not you.I am not a troll. I don't hide. I don't post anonymously and I don't pretend to be other people. But you do, right?
Of course not, your just a friendly neighbourhood racist.
Of course you do.To lie means nothing to you.
To be say racist Slavophobic statements is easy for you.
You still have not provided any proof that I believe in racism. Much less racism towards Slavic people.Again, you are a fake and a fraud.Prove me wrong.
Your previous statements, racist racial stereotyping of slavic people and your racist Slavophobic abuse is proof enough.
You are a fake online troll. You are a fraud.Prove me wrong.
You are a lying fake online troll.Prove me wrong.
Say a the guy currently trolling a woman who disagreed
You don't want to talk to the Russian gentleman in my thread do you?Haha!!!A discussion about culture. Please those who are Russian or from Eastern Europe, please respond. What is or what is not offensive? ↗
Wow Christmas must suck at your house.
In my house we are all atheists, it's just a regular day for us, we have New Year's instead ;)

Trump is sending delta to rescue them
Well, I'm actually part of SEAL Team 69 as a Space Shuttle Door Gunner guarding the spaceway between Earth and Mars, so they better bring a mechsuit with them🤨
Oh they will
What does it matter?
@jellyroo if G-d doesn’t tell me to do it then I don’t care if people attack it or not.
We're coming for you
This Year they should have a HOT TOT-Y. xx
Islam is not a religion it's a terrorist group
Hee hee: There will not be too many working days left :D
What if every other culture and religion does not want their holidays appropriated, disrespected and crammed into a Christian festival along with every other one on the planet?Like what Islamic festival? I mean we celebrate chineese holidays do why not. What Islamic holiday did you have in mind? You know that a lot of Muslims celebrate Christmas as Jesus is a holy figure in Islam? We should probably celebrate Mormon and Jewish holidays too.
In three weeks is ''Loy Krathong'' - don't miss that one...
@andreasderjuengere why not if you can make it more environmentally friendly There's no reason the 240,000 can't celebrate it this 22 November.
I see your point. Well: the majority of floats (here) are of natural material, and the government (here) organizes quite some cleaning up of rivers, right after. Many locals make and sell these charming rafts to earn a little - having not much income anyway. When I think of all the ''Christmas'' wrappings and packing garbage, I feel that even if Loy Krathong isn't perfectly 'environmental', … it does not contribute significant problems.
@andreasderjuengere it really depends how much crap gets left in the river. We already have a huge problem with plastic in the sea
I am aware. And Thailand is the main contributor to this problem. Believe me (please) when I tell you that this makes me extremely sad. At least, a few 'locals' woke up already; but the country is some 30 years behind with environmental awareness. Not enough :(
@andreasderjuengere I dont think Thailand is the main contributer
All those non-white Christians must love you.
You are a moron. Orthodox christians, such as the Coptics in Egypt, are not all white. And there are plenty of black or brown Catholics as well.
@InTimoreDei all those Christians in Africa, South America, India, Indochina, China, and of course African Americans love Christmas so when he calls Christmas a white religious holiday that promotes intolerance of other people he's actually being racist.
It's called an election, vote this time.
I did. Got fucked by everybody who didn't, or who couldn't recognize vileness when it stares 'em in the face. But at least I voted.
Celebrate it by beating the shit out of Christian Coptics?
man shit u r brainwashed for million of times i tell u thats not represent reality it seems u hate my posts u r triggered
Well mate, we know that most Muslims hate Christians in Egypt. I'm from Egypt
Says the guy beating the shit out of an oppressed minority every weekend.
thats bullshit 😂😂
egypt is a moderate laid back muslim country, you can drinl alcholol in bars there
I agree but man, Google translate sucks😂 what you said barely makes sense it translates things in a funny way
Alison brie, plenty of movies where she dont
Dude, Indians have the best festivals on earth
Christmas was a pagan celebration of Winter solstice. Christians hijacked it to push their religion on everyone.
You realise there was two extra months added to the year plus a leap year.
@jacquesvol that you?Romans made the Christians celebrate it on sol invicitus (The state religion at the time) so Christians wouldn't want their own separate festival.
@WhitePanther88 up to Christian emperor Constantine they had Sol Invictus on Roman coins.
The Roman empire romanised all religions in their empire, hence why they had such trouble with the Jews. If you want to see what Rome was like you only have to go to a Catholic church and see it in the architecture, the hymns, the Latin, the service, the font, the sacred oils etc
I've been in Rome for months
But really look. The Roman empire just didn't end, it still survives.
The RC church gave it a new meaning and used it. Now shops are using it more than the churches
True but like I said the Romans romanised Christiany to suit them first as with all religions In their territory. Amazing to think that a religion based on the religion of the people they oppressed would one day conquer their empire.
Their empire was not conquered by Christianity, but by Franks, Angles, Vandals, Goths.
Yes it was. The Roman empire was fully Christian by the time those Germanic people's took large parts of the empire (Lombards in italy) who were also Christians or would become Christians under Rome. The Roman empire survived in the east until 1453 a thousand years after the western Roman empire crumbled.
