It’s weird how a company solely used for helping men gain their sex appeal, is trying to tear them down for trying to use it to find their forever partner. I don’t get their choice here.
If so many adult men could be so triggered by the very suggestion that their gender might want to shave off some less desirable traits, well, obviously there’s some room for improvement.
There is an article that goes with it that has then talk about toxic masculinity. There is nothing wrong with masculinity. Masculinity is about being strong physically and mentally and always doing what is right and standing up for everyone regardless of the consequences. Assaulting and cat calling women has nothing to do with masculinity. Women do the same dam thing to men, so it isn't strictly something only men do. Feminists need to stop defining masculinity.
Why don't we start saying things like toxic femininity. Women hit men and think it US justified, they play the victim and attack other women. Why is there femininity not toxic?
Really? because it happens a lot and men apparently aren't allowed to hit back. In elementary school the girls would hit the guys all the time and say you can't hit me I'm a girl. The second the boy hit back he was suspended. A guy cheats on a girl and her hitting him becomes acceptable. Lots of public experience show people don't care and thinks the guy deserves it. And society only frowns upon men hitting women even if it is self defense. About 40% of reported demestic violence victims are men, so obviously women do it lots to, and it is probably way hire as guys are more likely to not report it.
Hitting men isn't part of being feminine. Okay, how how is men hitting women part of masculinity. Hypocritical if you ask me.
@nathanp97 where in this ad is “masculinity” under attack? let’s be clear here, just because a man displays certain negative behaviors, those behaviors are not categorized as masculine. They are characterized as being wrong.
Well to be fair I know that I would be pissed if Gillette made a similar commercial with the mere suggestion that we women might want to shave off some the less than desirable traits, we women are hardly saints.
They are saying that men abuse women they are generalizing what a man is. The article that was written about it had quotes from them talking about toxic masculinity, and describing masculinity as a terrible thing.
@nathanp97 no, they are focusing on “toxic” behavior Not masculinity as a whole. There have been ads directed at women to reduce slut shaming but that doesn’t imply women or femininity are wrong or bad as a whole.
@nathanp97 I agree. Like 40% of all domestic abuse is by women and probably higher due to it not beimg reported. I mean domestic abuse is higher among lesbian couples than hetrosexual couples yet only cis gendered men are being targeted for "toxic masculinity".
Actually Women are much more likely to be victims of intimate partner violence with 85 percent of domestic abuse victims being women and 15 percent men.
They talk about toxic masculinity, and I've never seen an ad trying to sell something to women while saying it. Most slot shaming abs are directed at men not women and occasionally men and women. I'd like to see this ad. In the article they talk specifically about toxic masculinity and say what is wrong with it. They try to tell men what masculinity is and that it is wrong, when it isn't. If they started defending femininity and calling it toxic you'd probably get annoyed to. + reported cases of demestic abuse is 40% and 60%. I'm not sure what you are talking about. I'd like to see that source. Women hit men a lot more than is reported, as you can watch almost any prank video where the man pretends to cheat and you will see the women hitting the man. Women hit men all the dam time and no one does anything because women hitting men is somehow okay.
Not true at all, men are much less likely to report being a victim of ipv than women due to battered husband syndrome, societal shame, the fact that they are less likely to be believed and the fact that when police are called out to a domestic disturbance they will arrest the husband/boyfriend regardless or not if he is the victim. The higher rates of violence among lesbian couples compared to get to couples shows that women can be just as violent as men.
Since many women ALSO do not report domestic violence and you have no statistics to verify your blatantly biased claim, I’m going to disregard it. Furthermore, I stated the stat on “reported” domestic violence because that is what Nathan referred to. If Gillette’s long standing tag line has neen “The Best that Men Can Get” and it’s latest iteration is “The Best a Man Can be”, let me ask you both, is sexual harassment in the workplace on his secretary, the best a man can be? Is hitting his wife or using his strength and power to rape, the best a man can be?
But they are generalizing all men and in the article they refer to it as part of masculinity. They are attacking. They should do another one about toxic femininity since they obviously care so much about equality.
Gillette’s long standing tag line for women's shavers is "Venus reveal the Godess in you". Let me ask you does sexual harassment in the workplace on her work collegue reveal a godess? Does hitting her husband or using their kids as weapon in divorce reveal a Godess in her, is raping a man revealing of the Godess in her. I dont think it's PC to describe women in administration jobs as secetarys or assume that only women work those jobs or that women can't and aren't bosses. It's not 1950 after all.
Rather than answering my question, you choose to deflect. Lets try to stay on topic little one. Instances of workplace harassment generally occur when someone is in a position of authority over another. I simplified that notion by using the word secretary. Are you suddenly a PC warrior little child? Now back to the ad. This ad is not generalizing all men behave badly and I would surmise that many men who ARE the best they can be, have nothing to worry about or feel attacked for. They can simply hold their head high and say, this suggestion doesn't apply to me.
Umm, no. you didn't answer my question. You deflected to point attention at their venus ad. But at this point I really dont want an answer from you. You've shown to be too ignorant to be worth listening to any longer. Little girl (or rather little boy with a pink account) needs a time out.
@Djaay there is too much man bashing going on these days, women can be just as bad as men if not worse yet no one ever says it and few if any speak up for men and boys in this world who often suffer much more in life than us women.
It's a toxic feminist problem , not a masculinity problem. And all of us men know that. But we'll never stand by anything that represents our opposition.
Littlewife... A thought to ponder... Society and its political identifiability of its correctness is the garbage dumpster of (hell) of those who commune within its paraidium.

Gillette has clearly had its day, I'll use scissors if I have too next time lol.
That's the general feeling of a lot of guys I know.
They've manipulated media outlets into willfully becoming free ads for shaving products
And that's really what the bottom line is.
Sad but true
Remember when commercials used to promote actual stuff...
like promote a product?
Pepperidge farm remembers...
Only time will tell. They would obviously have anticipated a backlash, But people are incredibly pissed about this.
It’s weird how a company solely used for helping men gain their sex appeal, is trying to tear them down for trying to use it to find their forever partner. I don’t get their choice here.
It has backfired for me overcharging my toxic masculinity reserves. I will force every chick I see to smile everywhere I go.
With all of the options available I won't give them any money
You kind of lose all merit when you reference a sometimes comic.
Which is?
*stonetoss
Autocorrect is terrible
Like Nike they got what they wanted. People talk about them
It's sjw bullshit. Men want to be left alone not dragged into this bullshit. Watch gillete burn now

@nathanp97 it’s not feminine to hit men nor is a woman hitting a man a prevalent event in society.
Really? because it happens a lot and men apparently aren't allowed to hit back. In elementary school the girls would hit the guys all the time and say you can't hit me I'm a girl. @nathanp97 they are generalizing men and singling them out due to their gender which is sexist.
Rather than answering my question, you choose to deflect. Lets try to stay on topic little one.

I answered your question. You can't apply a double standard and expect to be taken seriously, it's actually pretty sexist.
Umm, no. you didn't answer my question. You deflected to point attention at their venus ad. But at this point I really dont want an answer from you. You've shown to be too ignorant to be worth listening to any longer. Little girl (or rather little boy with a pink account) needs a time out.
I answered your question by pointing out your hypocritical sexism and your upset about it.
Here she is once again with the same ol'e feminisitic double standards sexist comments bashing men again. #backlash

I was not offended by it because I am not a snowflake
at least it gives the beta cucks an excuse to do some serious beta cucking.
Social Justice doesn't sell, but controversy does.
True but maybe papers but if the people you mostly sell to are insulted who's going to buy what your selling?
Yea they messed up big time
I made a question about that. It's pretty awkward check it out please
Well, Gillette is not getting any of my business.
Also, those clips from terry crews and the black boys fighting were taken completely out of context.
How dare you?
Im sure the owner of Gillette is a feminist
Definitely avoiding Gillette. They fucked up.
