White Security Guard pulls a gun on a Black Deputy Sheriff. Can a local or State Police Officer carry an unauthorised firearm into a Federal building? (Page 2)
Wouldn't any firearm provide by the state's Police force be authorized. Also was a fedaral building or a public with a fedaral agency renting space in it. Also the security guard was the employee of a pirvate security company not a fedaral employee.
Security guard is just an idiot, that wasn't trained well enough for situations, threatening and none threatening. Lol just another stupid security guard is all.
You realise how little training some deputy sheriffs get, like this deputy sheriff was so ignorant that he didn't know that he couldn't waltz about a federal building while armed. I'm not in law enforcement and even I know that.
Even if that was true, the security guard first mistake was escalating the situation when a rapid response wasn't needed. Instead of pulling out his weapon he could of asked for badge number or something to identify the officer, and then ask him to leave without force unless Force was intiated by the officer. Either way the security guard is in the wrong.
That's presuming the officer was a genuine threat. While he was asking for a badge number he could have been shot. It's probably not that common for a police officer to take his gun into a federal building. The cop should have descalated the situation by complying with federal law and agreeing to disarm first. Federal buildings are a major domestic terror target.
There has to be a life threatening situation to pull out your weapon. The site of an officer doesn't cause you to think o shit enemy, unless he came in the building with weapon drawn.
It take less than a second to draw and fire a firearm. An armed person with no buisness being armed in s federal building is a life threatening situation. Most cops know the law and would not have brought their gun in.
How well trained is the officer with a weapon? How well trained is the security guard with his weapon? If you say the officer is very well trained and could take out the guard in a second then you admit that he is a true cop and no one can presume him to be a false cop. However if you say the cop is fake then drawing a weapon quickly is risky for an untrained person and would be more of an advatage to already have his weapon out. The fact is the guard acted to quickly and became the aggressor. You have to meet force with equal force, it's not the wild wild west.
The guard had no idea if the cop was a real cop. There is no telling who is trained in firearms as anyone can learn to draw fast and shoot to kill if they drill enough at the range. In a situation like that if you wait until you have to meet force with equal force you are dead. Prevention is better than reaction.
Anyone can learn, but if you plan on shooting someone wouldn't you already have your weapon out at least, it's kinda stupid to have your weapon hulstered and not even ready, cops have something that locks weapon in holster so it can't be taken from him, that would be dumb for a would be cop attacker to keep weapon holstered since that would put him at a disadvantage from the quick draw. And your idea that you must pull the trigger first is also plenty dumb because we've already had that idea tested countless times in cop shootings that ended on the news and a high percentage of the time the cop is blamed for being to gun ho. And remember the guard isn't under duress of being pressured to make a quick decision, the cops weapon is still hulstered and there was no move to make a quick draw on the guard. Peaceful talks was still happening, the guard just decides to pull weapon out with no indication of threat on his life. If your a guard and you can't even make a good decision when not underpressure then you're in the wrong business. That guard should be fired.
No you wouldn't have your weapon drawn already if you were posing as law enforcement to a committ domestic terror attack or to steal confidential information from a federal building. The guard made the right decision to disarm an unidentified armed individual who was breaking the law and refusing to disarm. The cop broke federal law and should be fired espicially if he's so ignorant of the law tgat he doesn't know not to bring a gun into a federal building.
Whataboutism is not new. It was a cold war strategy thought up by Russian propagandists as a strategy for rebutting Western politics, philosophy, etc. But it wasn't very effective back then. In today's political climate however, Trump supporters, Russian propagandists, Muslim extremists, etc. are all using it in some cases successfully. So for the few people at GaG who find themselves in debates with these folks, you have to understand one simple thing, the fact that Trump associates are guilty of crimes has nothing to do with whataboutism when it comes to Clinton. No matter what Clinton did, it won't change what General Flynn, who was probably the third highest ranking person in Trump's administration is guilty of. It won't stop Paul Manafort, Trump's campaign manager, from spending the rest of his life in jail. Rick Gates is still going to serve jail time. Georgie P, still served two weeks in prison. Roger Stone is probably going to be charged with lying to Congress. And the Mueller probe will continue. Trump's foundation has agreed to dissolve. It is still faced with a number of civil lawsuits and will probably be indicted for criminal wrongdoing. And after January 1st, Trump will face just as many Congressional investigations as Clinton did as Secretary of State. Clinton has been done to death. There were literally a dozen investigations into her conduct as Secretary of State, the Clinton Foundation, etc. and even more when you look at her husband and her role in his previous administration. Websters dictionary has an interesting take on whataboutism and its growing role in political discussions, it's a good read. Lol consider yourself educated on the subject😉
Yeah whataboutism has nothing to do with my point.
Mohammed Noor name has never come out of your mouth with one utterance of support. Because he killed a "White" woman and in America, he is considered to be a "Black" man. He probably just found out recently that was his "label".
Too bad. So sad..
He thought he would be afforded the same support, the same benefit of the doubt. He thought he could use the same argument that he was scared for his life and the life of his partner. Because in the majority of cases, that wins the police officer his freedom. He simply has to believe his life is in danger and he is free to pull the trigger.
But he learned that race thing the hard way. A lot of immigrants learn it the hard way.
There should be two questions: 1. Was it legal for the Sheriff to enter with a gun? 2. Was it legal for the security guard to pull a gun on the sheriff.
Even if the sheriff was in the wrong, that doesn't mean the guard handled it right.
Black Deputy sheriff ignorant of the law and badly trainedf breaks the law by bringing a gun into a federal building and gets arrested for refusing to disarm.
Still a federal building and the deputy sheriff was so ignorant of the law and badly trained that he didn't know he couldn't waltz around a federal building with his side arm.
He looked saw a dude with colored skin as chose to point a loaded fire arm at him after he could have seen or realized that it was a security guard not some hoodlum trying to do any shady acts
Yea true but he would have to have the right stuff and he was behind the deck that the guard was conversating with someone and why would the cop fake or not pick out the guard not a random bystander that wouldn't fight back if a dude had a gun
The guard is an armed threat, you shoot him first then the unarmed civilians. Federal buildings are major targets for domestic terrorists, security guards are there to stop or discourage that.

He shouldn't even be a sheriff's deputy acting like a moron. A teenage boy might do something like that.
I was disgusted by the YouTube clip and fell that the officer in question has every right to sue the Security Guard and his company too.
I personally wish him and his wife a speedy trail and a just result in their favour.
... and if it's found that the officer broke federal law, prosecution perhaps?
He was deputy sheriff he should not be disrespected in that way.
He should obey the law and not present himself as a security risk.

I’m not sure about the law regarding that. I’d suspect if they’re on duty then it would be allowed.
Blues live matter, except when you are "Black".
Cops must obey the law except when they are "Black".
That makes no sense at all.
In fact, "Black" cops are held accountable for police brutality and murder. "White" cops are routinely defended at GaG.
No one came to Mohammed Noor's defense. Right?
Not true, you are just being racist.
Yawn. . .
Objective facts are really not your thing.
Mohammad Noor has been arrested. He turned himself in last month. Do you agree with the charge of murder? ↗
A classic case of whataboutism
Uhm, dude, that is complete and utter nonsense.
How is this whataboutism? I simply said, blue lives matter except when you are "Black", then I posted evidence of this.
Then you went sideways.
"No one came to Mohammed Noor's defense. Right? "
That is objective fact.
In this world, we use those things in a debate.

Seems like what RolandCuthbert was saying is true even if it is "whataboutism"
Yeah whataboutism has nothing to do with my point.

Anybody can buy an outfit and a badge. The security guard did the right thing, that black sheriff gon' learn.
He should have shot the pig too.
Very disappointed.
There should be two questions:
1. Was it legal for the Sheriff to enter with a gun?
2. Was it legal for the security guard to pull a gun on the sheriff.
Even if the sheriff was in the wrong, that doesn't mean the guard handled it right.
I thought blue lives mattered. It's not the reaction it's the over reaction.
White RENT A COP does stupid bullshit and deserves to go to pound-you-in-the-ass prison for pulling a gun on a REAL law enforcement officer, you mean.
Black Deputy sheriff ignorant of the law and badly trainedf breaks the law by bringing a gun into a federal building and gets arrested for refusing to disarm.
Pulling a gun on the police no matter what race they are is stupid. A security guard isn't superior to the police.
In a federal building he is. The deputy sheriff should have known better.
I don't understand why he pulled the gun in the first place?
The officer refused to disarm.
He shouldn't disarm, he's a sheriff, police officers can carry their gun anywhere since they're hired by the Government
Not in federal buildings. Your really very stupid or not an American.
The problem is, police don't think ANYONE is superior to police.
A security guard or a federal marshal?
Doesn't matter. The security guard is there to do a job, anyone can buy a police uniform and a gun.
It matters
In a federal building the police officer has no authority while the security guard is given authority by the federal government.
A police officer outranks a security guard any day
Would we even be having this convo if it was a white cop and a black security guard?
Not on federal property. State& local police have no authority on federal property unless given it by federal agencies. It was an IRS building.
No US attorney is gonna prosecute in this case. The cop will get a warning in his file. That’s it.
Maybe but police aren't above the law.
Any law that gives a rent-a-cop authority over a police officer should be quietly ignored. And will be in this case.
Still a federal building and the deputy sheriff was so ignorant of the law and badly trained that he didn't know he couldn't waltz around a federal building with his side arm.
True, but it doesn’t justify criminal prosecution.
He’ll get a reprimand.
Maybe. Police officers have been fired for less.
What state is this?
A RENT A COP, a FUCKING RENT A COP! He needs to get some serious prison time.
@HereIbe 😂😂😂
I would guess the state is one where everyone has a mama-sister-auntie-cousin.
@hereibe thanks dude
@HereIbe why would he get prision time for doing his job when the deputy sherif broke the law?
Again, you would not be saying that if it was a white cop and a black security guard.
Gotta go for real
He should get prison time because the RENT A COP actually broke the law. I get it, you're just a closeted Klansboy.
@HereIbe the deputy sheriff broke federal law. Cops can't carry guns into federal buildings.
We get it, little Klansboy, you're butthurt because your RENT A COP is going to get what's coming to him.
Don’t feed the trolls.
Triggered!!! RACIST RACIST RACIST RA RA RA!!!
He looked saw a dude with colored skin as chose to point a loaded fire arm at him after he could have seen or realized that it was a security guard not some hoodlum trying to do any shady acts
Anyone can buy a police uniform and pretend to be a cop as scandanavian mass shooter brevnik proved.
"Conversating" is not a word. It is "conversing."
Why is the race important?
usely not unless only court cops can
Who gives a flying fuck. This story is trash.
