@dragonfruitA- well said you nailed it🙋🏼♂️
@Girther10 Thank you, it's what im teaching kids part time now (and still learning myself in college) 😅
I agree! my sister was forced into going to two protests at her school which I found really annoying because she didn't even know what she was protesting for - I had to tell her.
I forgot to mention im not against protest its just that it would suck to unintentionally show schoolkids that protest is the only way to anything

"and that the school, if it’s publicly funded, doesn’t endorse a particular message."Now that's what I call a big grey area (looking back to the creationism vs evolution debates).
Bullshit LMAO is that why pretty much all scientific data backs it?
My whole thing is that whether the climate is changing or not, and whether it's man-made or not, how the fuck is everybody paying a carbon tax to the government supposed to cure the environment? These people. . . aren't even proposing any real solutions, they're just shaking us down for money. I mean, let's say your house was on fire, and somebody was like, "quick, quick, gimme your wallet!"Would you give them your wallet? I mean these are the exact same people, these governments, are the exact same people who tested thousands of nuclear bombs on the land, sea, and air, even the uppermost atmosphere, just to see what would happen, and now. . . I have to pay them a carbon tax to stop climate change, even though it won't stop it or do anything, it'll jut be my money going into an account somewhere and getting lost forever in the big money-eating machine? For climate?
1. Incentivize people to use less fossil fuels.2. Use the revenue to fund the development of alternatives.
Borderline millennial, always thought i was a genX. Pwoplw my age fucked up. We dropped the ball. We looked at our parents and thought, why are they making it hard for us to have what they got. We should have been looking at them and thinking "jeezus, how wasteful. They aren't happier than their parents, despite having a 4k flat screen". We wanted everything that we could get, and... at least for me... it didn't give me shit. Fuck materialism. Its a path to hell paved with bad intentions.
@superbutt- if we old dudes don’t like it, we’ll just bend you over
Wow what a strawman.
Think about it, go to your street corner and protest what happens? Maybe next Democratic president fix earths climate change if one wins. They all are trying to do what i just posted!! In new greendeal!!
The Green New Deal doesn't aim to do that.
Yes it does, its in the news on youtube everyday! I watch it! Look up what trump and aoc are fighting about! No more cows, climate change.. No more cars, climate change, etc..
What the GND suggests is phasing out gas cars and replacing them with electric ones; they're not talking about a flat ban on cars.
Exactly, in a document released by her office. She said, the goal is to phase out every combustion engine. Like i said, thats the only way to effect climate change, worldwide also? It won't happen.
I think she's just trying to stop everything in her mind that causes climate change. Including capitolism. Like it not she's trying..
The US going combustion free would be a major step in the world doing the same.
Yes, A switch paid for by goverment would be huge step for mankind. Above ground roads,? return nature to natural state one city small or large at a time.
Where is no above ground roads part of the GND?
My idea, save our planet..❤
Also next week world leaders are showing in un head quarters, new york. Emergency Climate Change meeting. Hurricane Forming as we speak.. Big news next week..
I thought you'd never ask :)Schools are radicalizing our children via this climate campaign of fear. To what end, we'll know soon enough
No, just undoing the damage that climate denialists are causing.
How are they undoing any damage? Carbon emissions continue to rise and we don’t have a viable power alternative, freaking out the kids is not helping, its only guilting people into voting for the left
Because we're investing in R&D for renewable energy sources and the CO2 emissions per capita have begun to level off.
Lol we’re investing in obsolete infrastructure for the most part and energy bills are skyrocketing in these jurisdictions. Unsustainable
That's why we invest R&D to make alternatives cheaper.
I dont see investment in r and d unrelated to solar / wind not in Canada at least
Umm, those are the renewables.
Those are two really really shitty forms of somewhat renewable energy, yes, they are shit and will always be shit because they are hamstrung by battery capacity which hasn't changed much in 100 years. Now tell me what innovative new energy sources we are investing in? Best projections show 2-3% max of world energy need can be solved by solar and wind, right now it's about 0.4%, so the best case scenario still proves those technologies all but obsolete. We are paying too much for ancient, unviable technology and you call that investing in r and d?
If you integrate the power grid sites that are receiving wind/sun can compensate for those that aren't and batteries now have 5.5 times the energy density of those 100 years ago and solar/wind could do a lot more than that. www.theguardian.com/.../study-wind-and-solar-can-power-most-of-the-united-states
5.5 times over 100 years and tbh that sounds high, we had electric cars with similar range to a nissan leaf 100 years ago. Regardless of energy density tho cost to manufacture and lifespan are the concerns when dealing with industrial amounts of juice
If u think u can rely on solar cells and turbine power for a city u r high idgaf what articles say
