why? but turkey is not russia there's little bit of democracy and in 2019 opposition parties gained so much power. erdogan is bit that strong anymore and he keeps losing popularity
erdogan is not not that strong anymore
he can't handle economy
Despots never willingly give up that power, and erdogan still has a cult of personality that is popular with turkeys nationalists. Nationalistic folks, when whipped up, often go violent.
if economy goes like that I dont think he can stay . also opponents imamoglu and yavas showed some of his lawlessness etc.. Losing Istanbul and ankara will have longer term consequences
I wouldn’t discount him just yet. We made similar issues with trump. We underestimated that idiot. Most of the country doesn’t like him, and over half support him being removed from office. But his base is often psychotic and violent, and wholly dedicated to him.
but you can't compare Us and Turkey You have democracy and a good economy. Also trump is new but we have erdogan for 20 year A lot of us are bored with him. He's predictable. I mean Our conditions are different. We got the hope we waited for 20 year A leftist as strong as Erdogan
We have a democratic republic/oligarchal system. We also have a decent economy but most of the population struggle to survive with crappy wages. I wish you all luck then.
european democracy is better I know. akp fucked us hard for 20 years with his ignorant but good people
