Exactly, well said.
Please don’t group all Chinese people with the uneducated few who do eat those things. It was a minority of uneducated people not the average well to do Chinese person. Most of us were minding our own business when this happened. Please and thank you.
You are incorrect. Check your facts. You can start by watching the video as it lays out all of those facts for you.
Well ok some of it was government-allowed but not all of it. The fact of the matter is that it’s not something the commonplace citizen in China is responsible for. It was the result of a minority of uneducated people working under the radar.
I think the proper response is to tighten regulations on open markets in China to eliminate live animals and unsavory conditions. Education programs should be handed out to people on the dangers of live animal markets especially mammals. Any people who disobey should be jailed for ten years. The world health organization could also chime in on the education programs. I think something along these lines would be the appropriate solution...
I agree with you complete.

Oh yeah, that's a realistic strategy. LMAO
Every country has an organization equivalent to an fda en.m.wikipedia.org/.../National_Medical_Products_Administration
I'm not even gonna open the link. The fact that bats are on the Chinese menu tells me that Chinese food regulation system isn't even close to being equivalent to the United States FDA. Our FDA isn't perfect by a long shot, be we ain't eating bats.
"Bat meat is not especially popular in China. It has been contested whether or not the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, suspected as having ties with the COVID-19 outbreak, sold bat meat, but bat meat has not been reported as a source of food in the city of Wuhan."https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bat_as_food Stop promoting ignorance dude. Videos of people eating bats aren’t even from China they’re from Indonesia. You’re not even trying to be balanced you just want to cling to assumptions and accusations because it’s easier for you. All you do is needlessly cause conflict when it doesn’t actually solve anything.
Bird Flu, a Virus of Our Own Hatching by Michael Greger.
You mentioned how many close calls we've had in our own backyard, but then gave only one example. Are there lots of others?
e. g. wwwnc. cdc. gov/eid/article/26/2/19-1348_article"Volume 26, Number 2—February 2020Hepatitis E Virus in Pigs from Slaughterhouses, United States, 2017–2019 ...
That study shows Hep E detected in pigs, but it's not what I would consider a close call by any means.
Agreed. The Chinese HAVE to change. The stakes at this point are clearly enormous and they affect the entire world. It is not beyond the realm of possibility that these wet markets could produce a virus that could literally wipe out the entire human population.
I doubt they will do much about it though.
I hope you're wrong. But we need to spread the word and increase international pressure on them to do the right thing.
the illegal trade need to be stamped out I agree. Please don’t include all Chinese people in your accusation though. Most of us were just minding our own business. Other than that I’m right with you guys on fixing dumb practices. Specifically trafficking wildlife.
@Agamogenesis I agree. We must always avoid generalizations. And the problem here is not really legilsation, because as you said, most of these practices are already illegal. The problem is with enforcement. But with an authoritarian government like the Chinese one, I'm worried that their way of enforcing it wouldn't exactly be humane either.
It’s a tough problem to completely uproot. I think this is where international wildlife agencies can step in a little bit too. the government can educate people on the danger of live animal markets, specifically mammals, and crack down on those who don’t listen. It’s small stuff but if people keep to it it could go a long way. I don’t know...
I would love for it to end though I hope some smart people somewhere come up with a solution.
Yes, they clearly do. It's a proven fact and well documented in the scientific and medical community. The Asian Flu in 1956 killed between one and four million people worldwide. SARS in 2002 infected 8,098 and killed 774 in seventeen counties. H7N9 emerged ten years later to strike at least 1,223 people and kill four out of every ten of them. Now, the milder, yet more infectious COVID-19 has sickened more than 300,000 across the globe. All of those outbreaks originated in China. It is also believed that the so-called Spanish Flu of 1918 originated in China. It's true that some diseases come from Africa, but I never said anything about where most are coming from anyway, only that China keeps producing novel disease, and they obviously do. It's an indisputable fact.It is also a fact that most of the diseases that originate in China come from animal origins, and that has far more to do with their practices surrounding the keeping and eating of wild animals that the size of their populace.
Please show us an example of a pandemic caused by the West.
I don’t know maybe Smallpox.
Read history...It will show you.
Smallpox originated in India or Egypt at least 3,000 years ago, not the West.I have read history and it shows the majority of diseases have originated in Asia or Africa.
Lol, British brought it to India. It was from EU.Dont change history man😂😂😂😂Indians and Chinese had best medical care & treatment in history, if u dont know this, you dont know anything good!
Smallpox existed in Asia for many hundreds of years before the British ever traveled there. Your understanding of history is clearly very poor. You should take some time to educate yourself. All this information is readily available and easy to find. Do us all a favor and get educated.www.history.com/news/the-rise-and-fall-of-smallpoxhttps://www.cdc.gov/smallpox/history/history.htmlNow, please either stop making claims that are not supported by facts, or provide some sources to back them up, like I did above.
Lol lol lol.I think i wasted enough time here...
Yes, you wasted my time. I shouldn't have to spend my time educating you. That's your mother's job. As I said, the facts are readily available and easy to find. Now go educate yourself.
I think Egypt is western but whatever this isn’t that relevant...
@Agamogenesis Technically, Egypt is part Asia and part Africa.
Okay well culturally I think Egypt is western but whatever Eurocentrism aside the Europeans definitely spread it around the whole world.
