Chauvin's life was in no way in danger. The verdict was the right and just one and he now needs only to be sentence to an appropriate term in prison. As I understand it, under the sentencing guidelines he would get about 12 1/2 years. But the prosecution wants to send him away for 30. In theory, he could get as much as 85 years with all three sentences run consecutively though that is highly unlikely due to both the fact that it was a first offense as well as the fact that all three convictions were for the exact same act. I believe he will get something like 20 years on the 2nd degree murder charge, 15 on the third degree murder charge and 10 on the manslaughter charge and run concurrently. I believe he will therefore get 20 years and then get about five off for good behavior (because a cop would know how to work the system) and that would end up being 15 years. Of course an extremist governor could end up being voted in then commute Chauvin's sentence to a much shorter term or pardon him entirely.
Personally I thin he should get the full amount of time for 2nd degree murder which is 30 years and not be given any more time off for behavior beyond 3 years and then face life time probation/parole when he gets out.
yeah ok life in danger when he had 3 other cops with him during that incident. fuck him let the prick rot behind bars. george was no saint as the liberal fucked up media portrays him as. he had a massive criminal record but the piece of shit didn't deserve to die either.
