There's a lot on GirlsAskGuys, and on the wider web, about #cuckolding. Some see this as a progressive development from a time when the wife was viewed as the husband's property. Most continue to view it as the diametric opposite of what a marriage is meant to be about.
There are mixed opinions are to why it seems to be so discussed. Some put it down to porn, which could be conditioning guys to see women they desire with other men. Other people argue that it's biological in nature. Whilst these and other theories may have merit, the psychology behind a man's desire to see his woman with another man is probably as old as time.
What is less well known is that there are two very different types of #cuckold.
The first type is the stereotype sissy - some of them are active on this site. Let's call him Bobby. It's about humilation for guys like Bobby- they tend to be liberal, well educated guys, who suffer from a strange fascination with other guys either fucking their wives better than they can, or having bigger cocks than they do. Bobby is a self identified beta, who loves being seen as a cuckold.
He might not even want to fuck his wife himself - this is how self destructive this fetish can become for him. There could be repressed homosexual tendencies going on - let's face it, he's far too focused on other guys and what they're packing.
Bobby is obsessed with cuckold porn - if it doesn't contain that element, then he's just not really interested. The bigger the other guy, the better, and guys like Bobby are often heavily into interracial cuckold stuff. But his own humiliation is absolutely key. If that's not going on there, then count him out.
The second type is more interesting, and way less self evident. Some call him the stag, but he's every bit as much a cuck as Bobby the sissy.
This guy (let's call him Joe) has done OK for himself. He's probably middle income, middle management. But he aspires to much more, and believes he's OWED much more. This much usually does tend to be evident to the people he works with. He thinks one day, he'll get to the top of the ladder, although usually his colleagues quietly don't agree. He's the kind of guy who worships his boss, but treats his subordinates like shit. He consciously self-identifies as an alpha male, but deep down, he's not a true alpha.
Behind closed doors, though, Joe is different. He's the boss in the world inside his own home. His wife is submissive to him in every way, and that's how he likes it. His suppressed feelings of inadequacy can sometimes lead a guy like this to become a domestic tyrant, so he keeps his kids in line, as well as his wife. And he's emotionally distant, and manipulative in terms of how he expresses affection, if indeed he actually can.
A casual observer might think Joe is secure in his home life, but it's just that he's a narcissist who knows how to keep women and children where he wants them. Joe's also a materialist. And this extends to the way he views his wife. And how he treats his wife.
It's fairly likely Joe didn't get everything he wanted as a kid, and that he overcompensates these days by showing off his house, his car, and his wife. He loves the idea that he has stuff that other people want, which is the part where wanting his wife to fuck other men comes in. This is about a craving for validation. He wants the people HE envies to envy HIM, for once.
The kinds of guys he wants to fuck his wife are people like his boss, or people from higher up the social pecking order than he is. Then he wants them to tell him how jealous they are of him, for having a wife like that. That they wish they had her, too. And of course, they can have her, but only when he says they can. It's about putting Joe in command, for once. A rare situation where he calls the shots, instead of them.
What Joe can't see, is that the only place this plays out according to his plan is, well, inside his own head. The guys who are screwing his wife don't see Joe as a guy to look up to, not at all. They might TELL him they're jealous, because they want another go with Joe's wife, but they SEE him as the cuck who lets other guys fuck his wife for kicks. They don't see him as aspirational, or respect him at all, and they can't see why his wife stays with him. They hold Joe AND his wife in contempt.
Joe, of course, doesn't realise this, because in the end, in his mind, this is all about him. He doesn't consider the likelihood that this will eventually get out, and the impact that this will have on his and his wife's reputations, and what this will do to his kids. With Joe, it's all about me, me, ME.
In BOTH examples, though, the wife's needs and desires take a back seat to the fetish, which overpowers the husband, and in most cases, ultimately destroys the relationship. At the root of it, with Joe just as much as with Bobby, is a lack of self-esteem, and a lack of empathy for the person he should care about the most, his wife.
That, my friends, is the essence of a true cuck.
