'Circle of Trust' Interview: Inside the Private World & Mind of a Passionate Foot Fetishist , Part I

This is the first in an interview-style series of articles I will be writing.

I enjoy analyzing life, talking with people about their various passions, interests, and knowledge. You know the phrase, “inquiring minds want to know.” Nah, scratch that. That was the slogan of an ‘80s tabloid (which I never read.) Inquisitive minds want to know? I’m not much into shallow, surface-level talk, and I’ve noticed over the years, that many subjects I had never given much thought to before, can become interesting, when presented in the right format, or with the right person. I have always been a believer in the idea that the deeper one goes, the more interesting a topic can become; not to mention, the lesser-known, often-not-discussed, taboo, and esoteric ones.

Thus, this idea was born, ‘The Circle of Trust Interviews.’ The subject could be anything, the person anyone, but what will be consistent, a thread running throughout, is that trust and discretion are guaranteed. I’m interested in honest, and often raw, unfiltered opinions (aren’t we all) – truth, someone’s truth. I am not trying to push the envelope. I am merely wanting to open the envelope, and share with you some of the intimate conversations I have been having. Like a slice of life, and sometimes, maybe a peek through the looking glass...

First Up: Mr. Foot Fetish

Subject is a professional, hetero, sexually-active male, with an MBA degree, in the 25-30 age range.

This is actually the fourth male foot fetishist I have met and discussed their interest with, but it wasn’t until meeting this person, with their level of enthusiasm, intelligence, analytical ability, and storytelling, that I suddenly found this to be a stimulating topic.

He and I had a lot of fun. I hope you’ll enjoy it as well, and this inside glimpse into the mind and world of a passionate foot fetishist… (I know there are a lot of you out there, so you’re welcome.)

First... Foot Fetishes Are Normal. Science Says So

There is scientific proof that foot fetishes are normal. Research dates back to the 1950s. And why shouldn’t they be a part of the sexual experience? Every other part of the body has been explored... every nook and cranny. So settle down, judgey bear.

It’s Actually a Kink (Not a Fetish)

"Fetish" and "kink" are sometimes used interchangeably, but there are some key differences.

A fetish is a fixation on a specific object, activity, or body part that has become psychologically essential to sexual gratification. A fetish makes it almost impossible to feel pleasure without it.

A kink is a broad term to describe many different alternative sexual interests, preferences, and/or fantasies.

For some, participating in a specific BDSM activity may start as a fantasy, and eventually lead to something they need in order to feel arousal, pleasure, and release.

Still, for the purposes of this article and interview, I will use the more common ‘fetish’ terminology, henceforth.

How Foot Fetishes are Formed: Some Possible Explanations

The idea of how fetishes are formed has been a question of intrigue for quite some time. There is, however, still relatively little research on the subject; perhaps because of the inherent complexities of sexual psychology.

The Biological:

Researcher Wilder Penfield (who established the "body image map" in the 1950s, referred to as ‘The Penfield Homunculus’) found that sensory perception of the feet is located directly adjacent to the sensory perception of the genitalia - which can explain the sexual fascination many people experience with feet, and the normalcy behind foot fetishism.

The Psychological:

“The most common answer to the question of how fetishes are formed is that a fetish is a learned response. For example, when a neutral item (such as a shoe, for example) is paired with something arousing (a nude photo, for example), the previously neutral item is eventually associated with arousal and sexual excitement, eventually becoming a trigger for arousal. The theory was proven in 1966, with a study performed by Stanley Rachman, where colored photographic slides of naked women were projected onto a screen for 15 seconds, followed by another image of a pair of black, knee-length women's boots projected for 30 seconds. Sexual arousal was successfully conditioned in this study, meaning that the participants eventually became aroused when looking at the image of the black boot.” https://bigthink.com/sex-relationships/psychology-of-foot-fetishes?rebelltitem=4#rebelltitem4

The Irrelevant: Why Question Why

However, ask a foot fetishist, and they will simply tell you something along the lines of, “The foot can be a beautiful thing. Why not feet? It’s just another part of the human body. Why should it be scorned, or relegated to something in some way wrong or weird?” A good point, indeed. Perhaps all things do not need to be analyzed. Perhaps some things just are, and that should be enough.

So, what’s it like having a foot fetish?

A: I love everything about women. Their luscious lips, beautiful tits, smooth skin, silky legs, slappable butts, I can go on for hours. When I first see a woman, I notice her hair, how she carries herself, and ngl her body too.

But my biggest fantasy (and I’m sure many men would agree) is feet. I have a foot fetish and I’m not even ashamed to say that. Not in like a disgusting way where some people like to lick dirty, smelly feet, no no no! I love a girl with a pair of soft, feminine feet, pedicured toes, pink soles, maybe with an anklet.. my Goodness.. This is my biggest turn on ever.

Having a foot fetish is the best. Something about them is so sexual, I don’t know what. So fun and exciting. Feet are sensual parts of the body. Them and sex walk hand in hand in my opinion. I have great passion for feet. It’s one of the few things that get me out of my shell immediately with no ice to be broken. I sucked too many feet in my lifetime, I developed a taste. I’m a connoisseur now lol. These toes, omg, my mouth is all watery, Amanda.

How do they compare to other parts of the body, if you were to rank them?

A: To me, they’re just as beautiful as boobs and a good butt. Sometimes I prefer feet to boobs actually. Sometimes feet can be #1 for me. Not all the time though. I do like a good pair of tits and a nice ass.

When did your interest or attraction to feet begin? When do you first remember having this type of thought?

A: I think I was 12 or something. I used to get a boner whenever I see barefoot girls, but of course I didn’t understand wtf was happening.

Wow really. Early. Did it coincide with other sexual interest, happening at the same time then?

A: I don’t remember exactly but I remember my nanny’s feet vividly. She had nice feet that turned me on for some reason.

How old was she, about? Was she attractive generally, or did you just like her feet?

A: She was in her late 30s and she was decent, not super hot but she had really good feet.

You’re straight, but how do you feel about men’s feet?

A: Besides my own feet, I think men’s feet are disgusting. I don’t like them at all.

You have nice feet and have received compliments on them. Do you think this plays any role at all in your interest in others’ feet?

A: No, not at all. I think if anything it’s the opposite. I like women’s feet to be soft, pedicured, and well taken care of - exactly what made me take care of my feet to a crazy degree, and by crazy I mean CRAZY.

In your opinion, what makes a beautiful foot?

A: A foot is sexy if: hairless, smooth with no calluses, pedicured, clean, moisturized, filed, has nice arches, soft heels, soft pink soles (I love soles), Egyptian toes (I have those I think), and the ankles complement the foot. They should be thin but defined. Clean and soft and filed and smell like moisturizer.

[Egyptian toe is distinguished by a long big toe, followed by the other toes tapering at a 45° angle. The entire foot is at an incline, and usually longer and narrower than other shapes. In ‘foot reading’, it is said that people who have feet like this have a royal air about them, and love extra pampering.]

What are you foot dealbreakers?

A: Very long toes, lots of dead skin, hairy toes, dirty nails, bunions. Can’t think of anything else.

You might think it’s a sickness but this is the easiest way to turn me on or off.

Turn you on or off, by looking at feet? Or more than that?

A: Sometimes I see an attractive girl. Let’s say a solid 7. I catch a quick glimpse at her feet. If they were sexy, she’s a 10 momentarily. If not, I had lost interest already. Well maybe not that extreme but you get the point.

Do you look at feet when you are out and about?

A: Oh definitely. This might sound weird but some women do yoga at the gym on the mattresses barefoot, and I can’t help but check out their feet. I don’t act creepy ofc but I look when I can lol.

Seeing great feet gives me an instant erection and makes me go crazy.

You get a lot of enjoyment out of touching women’s feet. How much enjoyment do you get having your feet touched?

A: I enjoy foot massages. They’re sexual and I don’t understand people who say no they’re not. If I’m tickled, or rubbed, I’m immediately turned on, I don't know why or how.

What does a great massage, or session, entail?

A: Mmm I guess a good rub, touching all the pressure points, a little bit of tickling, alternating between hard and soft.

Have you ever, or do you like the idea, of a woman using her feet to massage you to erection? It is possible to have this level of dexterity, with practice. Is that something that appeals to you?

A: A woman massaging me with her feet to erection? Yes please! Find her and send her to me.

lolol. Will do! (I know of one, but she’s taken.)

How do you feel about painted nails? What colours or manicure styles do you prefer? (Round or square edge; any gems, etc.?)

A: God! That’s a tough question. Depends on the skin tone of her toes.

I love all colors but mostly white French pedicure and light pink. French is so sexy. Sometimes maroon red too! My mouth is watery now lol.

I don’t have a preference with square vs round. Both can look good.

Are jewellery accessories like ankle bracelets (anklets), and toe rings attractive to you?

A: An anklet is a huge immediate turn on. Toe rings too. They send a message. It’s like the girl is saying, “I know feet are sexy. I know you’ll be looking. I’ll torture you by wearing them.”

Foot fetishists typically fall into one of two categories – those who prefer/require them to be clean, and those who prefer... shall we say, the dirtier the better. (Although there may certainly be some who cross over into both.) What are your feelings on foot cleanliness? Is odour a draw or a detractant?

A: I’m not into dirty sweaty feet though that kink has a big fanbase. I don’t like dirty feet at all. I’m very very very particular about hygiene. I like feminine, clean, filed, pedicured feet.

So what kind of care and maintenance do you do on your own feet? Do you get manicures or pedicures done for yourself?

A: As far as feet are concerned, I think I have the best feet any man can ever have. I get a pedicure once every 3 weeks. I don’t paint my nails ofc, don’t get me wrong. I just go there because they clip the nails to perfection. I file my feet every other day, even the lady at the spa always tells me I don’t have dead skin and she asks me wtf I’m doing lol. I moisturize them two times a day and a lot of times I put cologne on them. If you ever met me, Acqua di Gio Absolu is what my feet smell like.

Ok, we have to explore this some more. Cologne on your feet heh heh. Now this is interesting. Thank you for telling me, I feel privileged and honoured, kind sir. You know I have to go out now to a department store and find out exactly what Acqua di Gio Absolu smells like. (I wonder if they would be most pleased, or disappointed, where [name removed for privacy] is using his.) I have a huge grin on my face and I think it's kind of awesome. One day when I am feeling bad, or sad, I will think of your luxurious looking and smelling feet and it will again bring a smile to my face. And smiles are contagious. So you're really saving humanity here.

The most interesting part is how you're doing this for yourself. Please explain why you want your feet to smell this good.
Is it on account of spontaneity, in case you meet someone, you must be prepared at all times? (I could believe it's just for you, though.)

A: I think they’d be happy I use Acqua di Gio for my feet lol. Why do I do it? It’s for me and not for others. My interest in feet makes me the way I am. I take care of them just like I want any girl to. Actually that’s one of my tests. If I have better feet than a girl, then we won’t work. And trust me, I do have better feet than many girls. This sounds like an eccentric and a douchey thing to say but I really do. I don’t smell my own feet ofc, though I do have the flexibility to do that. I don’t put cologne on them for anyone ofc. Nobody ever sucked my toes lol and I don’t think anybody ever will, because I’m not into men, and men are the majority of foot fetishists.

Can you imagine a scenario where you meet a girl who doesn’t have nicely maintained feet, but you liked many other things about her, that you would be motivated enough to teach her how to take better care of them?

A: Happened many times. They all noticed an improvement in how dudes view them.

When you go to the salon, do you always see the same person, or are you flexible on who works on you?

A: When I go to the salon, I like to see one lady. I like consistency and she’s used to my feet.

I actually think she’s a little turned on by them too, because of remarks. I don't know but I feel like she does like feet and she actually enjoys this. I’m not sure if I’m over analyzing this but it’s a bit weird if she isn’t into feet. I might be wrong though. I’m just scared to ask because I don’t want shit to be awkward.

Do you talk often, or stay mostly quiet?

A: No, we talk the whole time.

Sounds like she either 1. Likes you as a good, regular, high-tipping client, or 2. Is a foot enthusiast herself, or 3. She likes you as a person and enjoys her time with you so wants to compliment you out of genuine appreciation.
Guess you'll never know. But they're all nice and good reasons, in the end.

A: I mean you’re right but I don’t think she’s trying to please me because I’ve been a regular for too long. I feel like she does like good feet, but I’ll never know.

What kinds of things does she say to you?

A: She always tells me, “You have great feet,” “I like how your toes look,” “Your skin is very good.” She knows me and we’re comfortable with each other. I’ve been going to that place for years. Sometimes she tickles me and laughs.

Foot fetishes are more common with men than women. Any guesses as to why?

A: Women tend to look at the whole package. They don’t necessarily fetishize about a certain body part like us.

Very true. You guys have it kind of tough. We care about every-thing. (Exhausting, I would imagine, for y'all, being scrutinized to that degree.) Actually, I think girls should be happy guys focus in on certain things, like feet. We might be in-or-out, but I think we're more appreciated physically, generally.

What happens when she tickles you?

A: I like it when she tickles me but I don’t say anything. She’s in her 50s. An Eastern European MILF.

Do you break out in a laugh when she does it, or can you contain it and remain stoic?

Do you get aroused at all?

A: I do laugh, yes. Sometimes loud lol.

I do get aroused ngl. Tickling arouses me.

Do you get aroused sometimes when you're tickled elsewhere, not on the feet?

A: I have ticklish feet but I do get turned on when touched near my inner thigh and also lower back.

Do the shoes matter? What kinds of shoes are your favourite?

A: I love many kinds of shoes on women. I don’t have a shoe fetish but if a woman is wearing heels that expose her heels literally and they like pop when she walks and show her soles (oh god, I get a hard-on just seeing that.) Pink soles that turn red when in heels kill me!

Half shoes are sexy as fuck sometimes. Slip-ons are sexy if they show some toe cleavage. Makes me wonder if she has sexy toes or not.

I like flip-flops on women too, so nonchalant and sexy.

I would sound like a creep probably but be sure that I would never act on any instinct but when I see women pop their heels or slip one and their feet are exposed in a public place, that’s like porno to me and most guys out there.

Aminah Abdul Jilil, Silver Chain Open Toe Sandal
Aminah Abdul Jilil, Silver Chain Open Toe Sandal

Yes, there’s something about a dangling shoe, particularly a nice shoe, isn’t there? Is it fair to say it bridges the line between sexy and nonchalant?

A: Yes! Definitely sexy and nonchalant, or a good balance between the two.

How comfortable would you have to feel around a woman, or how long would you have to know her, in order to feel comfortable bringing up this topic, or doing something about it?

And do you think it’s best to ask how they feel about it first, or just go for it spontaneously in the moment, and see how they react?

A: I mean there’s no set rule. Trust on average usually takes at least a few months. Depends. If we’re comfortable together, I’ll let her know immediately. I’m not into BS. I like feet and I’ll say, “I’m gonna give you a massage that’ll make you wet.”

How much of a social stigma do you feel still exists around having a foot fetish?

A: I think there’s still social stigma. Personally, I don’t care. I’m open about it. If they think I’m weird, I’ll name 5 things I think are weird about them. A foot isn’t that different from a leg. Everyone likes a nice pair of legs on women. Feet are the cherries on top of the cake.

Do you get the impression that there are still many people hiding their love of feet? Do you sometimes wish that more people were more open about it, in hopes that it would become more accepted?

A: Okay don’t quote me on this but I’m willing to bet money that from every 5 guys that you see, 3 would have a foot fetish. Many won’t admit or are uncomfortable in their own skin. I admit it because I’m comfortable in my own skin, sometimes way too comfortable. If people think I’m a creep, they’re not my kind of people anyways. I think many men are open about their foot fetishes. Just read comments on Facebook. Biggest proof is how all ads throw in some chick with her bare feet as a bait for us. It works for me every time honestly. I stop scrolling and I pay homage to the beauty of female feet lol.

  • Very interesting and informative writing, Amanda. This certainly was outside my realm of experience but I read the whole thing and was intrigued by it. I think there's always room for exploration in relationships and (most) of this doesn't seem to far out of the norm that I'd pump the breaks immediately. Thank you for the insight. I'm continuously impressed with your thought process and writing organization.

  • I think small feet and hands on women are hot. I can also dig what your interviewee had to say about foot grooming.
I've never been a foot fetishist in the sense of sucking toes, and so on. I tried it with a girlfriend one time when she was on her back and I was fucking her. She was uninhibited, very erotic, and I idolized her. I lifted her leg up, looked admiringly at her petite foot, and was inspired to lick her pretty toes. As soon as I did, she screamed and jerked her leg away because it tickled too badly.

  • While I have a lot of kinks n fetishes etc, feet is not one of them.

I have friends that are firmly into it and have been to a lot of BDSM events and meets where feet are a major part.

possibly bizarrely they don’t do anything for me.

yes love girls in heels, but also love them in combat boots.

it’s not about weird side of things, for example I love pet play and other more extreme stuff.

however, with kinks n fetishes everyone has their own and I respect them having them.

  • I really like feet too. I'm not sure why though. Maybe it's because it's a part of the body that is just so incredibly sensitive to touch.

    • "Milenasfeet" in the Feb 2 photo above seems to have really nice feet. I wouldn't mind giving her a foot massage! :)

  • Thanks for this My Take , I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a foot fetish , but I am not obsessed with it lol , A girl can have sexy feet to me but a Girl’s feet is more sexy when she is wearing sexy shoes , So I would say I have more of a sexy girl shoe fetish over the feet lol If Insee a girl in a cute outfit wearing sexy shoes. Then that’s a huge turn on to me lol

    • Yeah I hear ya. Starting as a teenager I loved leather and shoes so much I used to sometimes sleep with my new shoes on my nightstand next to me. The smell of leather was intoxicating and for a woman’s wardrobe it’s certainly true that the right shoes can make an outfit.

    • Yea that sounds hot

  • I don’t know. I’ve heard that Fetishes are more of a man thing, while kinks are more of a woman thing. I’ve never met a woman who is sexually aroused by

    • Navels
    • Farts
    • Feet
    • certain fabrics
    • certain movie scenes
    • etc

I have met quite a few women who are into the same old boring vanilla stuff such as

    • Bondage
    • BDSM
    • Spanking
    • Naughty talk
    • As I wrote, the only differences between fetishes and kinks is the level of necessity in one's sexual satisfaction. It's not really about the 'cause/object' so much (even though that's how it's more commonly used in the vernacular. Guys tend to fetishize body parts, true, and women don't. I don't think this is so incomprehensible though, as men's brains do compartmentalize generally, more. They've done studies where men and women are put into MRIs and they are asked to recall various scenarios, memories, feelings, and to view static images of random things, both positive and negative. So we know for a fact that female brains light up with more magnetic heat, when recalling, and feeling. Our five senses are more tied to how we feel and think about things. One might say that there is roughly an equal level of total brain activity, but with women it is more spread out, and with men more hot, more concentrated in fewer zones. Bondage and BDSM is not "vanilla." Vanilla gets a bad wrap, too. Many people love it's purity and simplicity. There is less paraphernalia, and fewer distractions, with sex without equipment/toys. The brain can still be flooded with happy juice. When you up the ante to more extremist things, then yes, 'regular sex' can seem boring, but only by comparison.

    • Men are more visual than women when it comes to attraction. That’s why women don’t fetishize body parts. I know that the leftists will disagree and say that women are visual too but that’s wrong considering that it takes a lot more to actually turn on a woman than just the sight of a shirtless man.
      https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=A9WZFeA4FzI

If women were as visual as men are when it comes to attraction, then the simple sight of a shirtless man would get them “wet”. Heck there’s even a study that showed how just looking a pretty woman’s face has the same effect on men’s brains that a certain drug has on the brain. I forgot the study’s name though.

    • "Men are visual" is just a surface analysis.

  • Lol that's pretty strange

  • Is there a stomach fetish?

    • Hmm. I haven't heard of that, it isn't really talked about, but any object (or body part) can be fetishized. It's really more about the appreciation of it's beauty, or greatness, than tied to any particular objects... so sure. Yes.

    Nice take

  • Your a foot fetishishist? What does that entail? Do you like to play with people with your feet or do you like to be played with with feet?

    • I personally am not a foot fetishist. Sounds like you didn't read it until the end of Part II. But generally speaking, it's about liking feet, looking at them, appreciating them, massaging them, and sometimes sucking, tickling, licking, playfully biting, etc. They are incorporated into the sexual experience in many ways. It's more common for guys to feel this way than girls, but it can apply to either/both. If a person is a foot fetishist, they are usually the more active one. But they also appreciate theirs being incorporated, if the other person is willing/enthusiastic.
