New female friend - friend of a friend, actually. She's pretty cool, but it's not like I know her well.
I end up sitting by her, and out of the blue, she says to me: "You try to hold my hand I'll slap you. " I just laughed and said sort of sarcastically "As tough as that will be, I'll promise to try my best to resist your feminine charms. "
Does this woman think I'm interested? As far as I know, I haven't given her any sign of interest at all. (I don't know her that well), I can't quite tell if ya'll being serious or not when you threaten me like that.
If the women ARE serious. Then somehow I may be giving off a vibe of interest that I don't always want to give off, and I'm wondering how that is, because I don't flirt unless I'm interested.
And if that's true, and I am interested in a certain woman, but I get shot down before I can even hope to flirt, then I have very few answers.
Do I talk to this woman in private, be point blank about where I stand (While she's a wonderful attractive woman, she's not my type and I'm not interested in dating her), do I just drop the issue? Or will I sound clueless and stupid if I ask her and she was "kidding around" and I thought she was serious?
Well its kinda obvious she was kidding. She probably just said that to kinda get talkative with you or just try and make you laugh. It probably didn't mean anything.

Wow. It really isn't that big of a deal. She was joking. She has a sense of humor but to talk to her in private about it is going to make you sound absolutely clueless. So, she was just teasing a little.
Sounds like she may have some interest in you and was testing you to see if you might have some interest back. I do that, playful kidding to see the mans reaction. I wouldn't make a big deal of it. If I had to guess I would say she wasn't being serious.
If you're not interested in her? Drop it, but by spending the time to even think about this long enough to ask this question I think you have some interest in her? Maybe you don't even realize it? If you don't care then let it go
Was she joking? Don't know. What was her voice like? Did she smile/laugh when you were being sarcastic?
As for not sending out signals. You don't need to be sending out signals for a woman to be attracted to you. There is no beacon or aura light that display red, amber, or green to the prospective women. They appear to like you and want perhaps to test the waters to see if you feel the same about them.
As for telling her in private. I doubt that this will be necessary unless you keep playing the game and leading her one. If you are not interested, don't partake in any playful banter - which your laughing and sarcastic comment could be construed as - and just don't pay any attention to it.
. And, yes, she could paint you as clueless if you ask her outright. Reason being is that she may lie to protect herself and say that you completely misunderstood here and then you'll be standing there like a fool.
