Does she say things like "OH MY GOSH ____ would love that! " or "HA there was this one time that me and ___ did this and it was hilarious" Does she do this a lot? Once or twice every few weeks is ok but every week is not. Another good way to tell is if there are still pictures of him up in her room. One or two group pictures is ok but one or two pictures of just the guy and her are not. Is she still friends with her ex? If she is then does she talk to him more then you? Does she hang all over you when you are in front of the ex. As if to make him jealous? Does she try to always sit by him or across from him when you are all hanging out?
She really doesn't talk about him. she has a friend name "Jay" and her ex was named "Jason" so this one time I said did you talk to "Jason" (meaning her friend) recently. She got weirded out. She told me he texted her on New Years. - 10 months ago

Question Asker
I asked her about it and she said she didn't mean for it to seem like she was trying to use me to make him jealous. So I let it slide. I honestly can't say how I would react if I saw my ex but I do know that I am over her. - 10 months ago
Question Asker
She has told me there relationship was terrible and what I got was possibly abusive. And I'm the complete opposite of that. - 10 months ago

Closure and being over someone is two different things. It sounds like she never got closure. If she doesn't bring him up then I'd wager she was over him but it sounds like she isn't fully over the situation that she had with him. - 10 months ago

I wish I knew too man, I wish I knew too. My girlfriend brings up her ex a few times a week, usually in a negative light (like 'oh he used to do this and I hated it') so I let it slide, but when I found out they still talk I briefly considered confronting this guy and telling him to get out of her life. But I realized it's her decision, not mine, so I'm just along for the ride.
Ladies: Don't talk about your ex. Just don't. As far as we're concerned, he should be dead to you, even if he's not. I know relationships are all about honesty but we don't want to think that he's still in your mind. I can't speak for all guys, but I can go from "elated to be with you" to "I'm so pissed I'd beat his ass unconscious if he were here" with one casual remark about the ex.
From the answers I have received, if they talk about him still they are not over them. - 9 months ago

To be honest, I wouldn't even expect her to be. It's unreasonable to think someone can be in a relationship for years and then just delete it from their life. Still drives me crazy though. - 9 months ago

Question Asker
If she is just afraid to express her feelings and get hurt. Unfortunately I believe she wasn't attracted to me anymore and was scared to tell me. Because I clearly asked her if she was confused and I still didn't get an answer. - 9 months ago

Sucks man :(. But at least you were able to tell beforehand and it didn't lead to an even harder breakup. - 9 months ago

Yeah I saw the red flags and I called her on it before hand. I let her know I was upset by bringing her home early and then I didn't contact her for a day. I think that gave her a reason to get mad at me and break it off. - 9 months ago
I wish I could have done that in my relationship but I always held back cause I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. - 9 months ago
