During the last year I have become friendly with a male customer who comes into my place of work. We have flirted, he would tease me, always would ask "any plans for the weekend? " Would tell me his plans then too, what bar he will be in, etc. We have not bumped into each other on a social occasion. A few weeks ago he was in, I was really busy and stressed out, he tried to make a joke, I should have been more lighthearted about it but I was flustered, and said not now, then he apologized and got embarrassed, then I got embarrassed. Ive seen him twice since then and his attitude towards me has changed, he acts cooler towards me, does not smile like he used to at me, acts disinterested. I feel awful about this, it might not have anything to do with the silly joke at the wrong time, maybe he has found someone new. I don't know. I don't know how to deal with this correctly, I really like this guy, he is a good man. What should I do? Please help (ps its really hard to talk properly as I work in a restaurant where there is always someone around, no privacy whatsoever)
Why don't you ask him if he wants to go get some coffee or something after you get off of work. If you like him and trust him, you might as well give it a shot. I used to work in restaurants too and trust me I know all about there being no privacy and having everyone in your business. I think your best bet is to try and talk to the guy outside of work. He'll never learn the real you in that environment. Good luck.
