How do YOU break the stereotype?

I'm a petite girl who dresses cute, has blond curlyish hair, and big eyes. But I have a really dirty mind and mouth!
I'm also pretty internet savvy and like anime and stuff.

I'm black. I am really shy and quiet and I only listen to rock, punk and heavy metal and I sometimes like country music ( My guilty pleasure ). I don't like RnB and hip hop music. I am a loner too. I think people escipally where I live expected me to be "cool" and loud, but they got the opposite.

I'm a blonde, tall, pale, blue-eyed girl.

YEAH -- I get stereotyped as the idiot cheerleader ALOT,

BUT that's not me ^_^ I love piercings and have 7. I love metal, alternative, and punk rock (the old punk rock -- like Kurt Corbain and such. Not the new crap). But I also love country and playing century style songs on my violin. I hate pink with a passion - personally I believe it looks like a cat barfed on something. I also love black and the simple sophistication it has, I don't mind colors though. I love anime. I also love wearing a corset, not tightlacing of course, I just enjoy how it looks (I love the victorian era ...and emilie autumn ^_^).

I believe the toilet seat should just be left the way it is after you're done, guy or girl, who live together. So guy pees and seat is up, leave it up. Girl comes in, just put it down and after leave it down. Etc.

Very geeky I play video games and watch anime ect. like rpg and fantasy stuff too sometimes I'd rather be on the internet than with friends... I act and think like a guy occasionaly but I'm a romantic who reads shoujo manga, I'm hyper on a daily basis and can be rly loud...at the same time I do digital art and realism...I'm a L33T that hates talking on the phone and likes to fish and I'm 15 and still play with 4 year olds...I'm in honors classes but I nvr study and sleep in class..

but nobody at my school would ever think that because I'm very quiet in public and introverted xP

I like getting dirty, fishing, shooting a game of pool... I wear skater shoes and hoodies and play the guitar, I don't like painting my fingernails, but do like to do my toenails, which is weird. I love baseball and video games (even though I don't play as much as I used to). I've probably been to more metal concerts than most girls. I hate Britney Spears, even though I can sing along with almost all of her songs. I"m sure there's more, but my class bell is about to ring. haha

Well, I'd rather go fishing than shopping or work on power-house cars than get my nails done. I do try for a feminine look sometimes(Lord gave me enough curves to look female in baggy sweats!) but overall I enjoy Forensic files over any TV drama. I'm also studying to become a Forensic Pathologist. Yay for tomboys!

I looooooooove sports (running, soccer, touch rugby, field hockey etc) and looooooove video games especially DOTA (although I'm not really awesome). I'm a tomboyish girly girl. I know it sounds paradoxical, but it's true ;)

I'm a black girl who doesn't seem to neatly fit into anybody's little stereotypical box. I'm extremely shy and very much an introvert. All that loud, obnoxious ghetto stuff...it's not in my nature. I also don't enjoy overly social stuff like clubs/bars. I value education in a huge way. I am a major art, literature and history nerd. I always have my head in a book from a variety of different genres. Photography and foreign culture and language are a few passions. I also love to write; speaking of writing, I am currently in college to become a journalist and am also working on a book. At 6'1, I don't play or even like basketball although there's never a shortage of people around who seem to expect that I should. I wear chucks and a fedora; not southpole or apple bottom. Hoochie is for hookers and not part of my wardrobe. I hate rap but love rock music. What's funny is driving a gold Cadillac with Nine Inch Nails blasting and people looking at me like I'm crazy when I drive past the "hood". I'm weird (according to most people) but I love every moment of it; I enjoy being different; nothing worse than being blending in with the masses.

first of all, I would think that is utterly cute. I think we all have guilty pleasures and little things that we like, but are embarrassed to tell people about because we might be judged. (I play second life <_<). I think that those quirky things aren't anything to be ashamed of, they make you who you are and anyone you are around should appreciate that about you. I don't think you have anything to prove, you like the jonas brothers-big deal. Anyone who has a problem, that's their issue.

Bottom line, people are stupid. They say and do things 90% of the time because other people are saying and doing things and they don't want to an outsider. I bet anyone that judges you about your music, probably has jonas or something else amidst their collection but they are to worried about what others will say that they wouldn't admit to stuff they actually like in public.

Guys seem to think it's strange I'm into gore and zombies. Haha I even wonder about post-zombie apocalypse scenarios.

I'm 5'6 and a real girly girl, most of the time. I love videogames, playing football with the guys, lacrosse, and anything athletic. I get it from having brothers, but as most of my guys friend say. "I clean up nicely, very nicely."

I come a very prominent white family in a community where dating out of your race is usually looked down on. I'm dating an asian who is all decked out in tattoos and his piercings, we get some interesting looks.

I'm extremely into martial arts, even though you wouldn't think that. A lot of guys think I'm a whore by the way I speak, in reality I have never done anything sexual with anyone. If they really got to know me they would find out how prude I really am. Most of my friends refer to me as Extra Virgin.

I look innocent appearently, but I go and usually get drunk every weekend with friends. You would never expect me to do anything that I do.

I'm a female African American, and I'm not loud and obnoxious, though I am outgoing and friendly. I'm educated and go to one of the best universities in my country. I am heavily into the arts; theatre, fashion, literature, dance, music etc. I sing opera, hate rap, LOVE rock and roll. AND just when you think that's it, I play rugby and martial arts. I suck at basketball! I know absolutely nothing about "Thug Lyfe" and I'm pretty turned off by people who dress or act in that demeanor. I can't speak "ghetto" that well, but I am kickass at Latin derivatives! My friends poke fun because I can quote Shakespeare, but I don't even know a song by 2Pac . I love to look hot like anyone else, but when I do, I make sure that sexiness and classiness can mix. So..no Hoochie Mama here! haha I'm just sick of people saying things like; "You're pretty for a black girl" or "You're smart for a black girl." Can I not just be pretty and smart? I think I come off as arrogant sometimes (like now), but it's not so. I just feel like when you have a stereotype against you, you need to work and prove and represent - not just to yourself, but others - that not everyone falls into that little box that society has made for all of us. My talents and downfalls don't make me any less a black person, or a woman.

I am hispanic but I have zero rythm, zero spicey food tolerance and can speak French fluently as well as English. Spanish...well I sound like a complete gringo speaking it. ;)

I'm really soft spoken but love to be in front of an audience. Most would never guess that of me I guess.

Im a football playing Puerto Rican 6"1 250lbs. And people think I shouldn't be intelligent and very good with computers. I'm supposed to be the dumb latino who gets by on bullying,threats etc.

I don't care what people think of it either, I'm plenty secure enough in my masculinity to worry about what people think of my musical tastes.

The only reason stereotypes exist is because enough people reinforce them.

He was one of the toughest tackles in football history, part of the L.A. Rams' "fearsome foursome" in the '70s. But he was also into needlepoint, and wrote a best-selling book on the subject!

well I'm brown and hispanic, people thnk I can't speak english, and I know I speak better english than a lot of people..
its funny though sometimes I just go with the current and all of a sudden I speak english and everybody is like, 0_0 wow!

Well I'm asian at 5'6" and everyone always assumes that I have straight A's, swim, or do other asian stuff. But I play football and I don't get straight A's, I don't like asian food as much as I like italian food. But I also don't drink or smoke ever. So I don't rally fit in a stereotype and I like that about me.
