i disagree with the "man is more intelligent so he gets higher in the workplace bs." women are definitely intelligent enough and have personalities to be the top dog but I think the problem lies more with the fact that men don't think women can do it. no matter how much you deny it almost all men, and especially those in the higher ends of businesses, are sexist and view women as weaker than themselves. you say we have equal opportunity and we are not descriminated against, that may be but only on a legal level. You need to take into account that inteligence is about the EFFORT you put in your education instead of what sex organs have. im sorry but this simply isn't true. if you take an unbiased look back through various pieces of research, something which you obviously haven't done, you would find an overwhelming amount of literature that shows that it is the glass-ceiling effect that plays the most prominent role in men having jobs in the executive level than women.

your argument about the actual anatomical make up of the brain (men having bigger brains than women) playing a role doesn't really hold much either...it has been proven that women have a larger Corpus callosum size and it is therefore thought that they can process info quicker between the left and right brain. this argument is just as valid as your 'men have a bigger brain and therefore more neurons'.

this brings me to my second point about male and female brains, whilst the female brain looks to be smaller than the male brain, however medical practitioners have said that the women's brain processes more folding than the male brain and when it is unfolded it covers the same surface area as the female brain.

and on last count there were 6,706,993,152 people in the world, how can you think that a study which only included 100,000 people could ever be enough to prove that men are smarter than women? also these people were all from the same place, same education, most likely the same up-bringing so it can't really give a valid cross-section of society.

No one likes to be inferior. Men may be smarter, but women live longer; probably due to the fact that men are bigger risk takers (and don't seek medical help when they need it). Men's ability to take risks and their inflated egos probably contribute more to their excellence in the work force than their actual intelligence though. There are plenty of people who aren't very intelligent in positions they don't deserve (women who are gorgeous and men who are prideful, aggressive businessmen).

I can live with being an average of 3 IQ points less intelligent. Women's EIQ is probably proportionally much higher than men's to make up for the 3 point difference.

Both sexes are able to do these things for the most part women do these things better.Women are able to rationalize better than men because if you look at stats more men commit suicide and crimes than women so there goes any intellegence. Women can multitask better than men even though we have smaller brains. Females from an early age always outdo boys on test and most valedictorians are female also. Women are also very good at communicating than men.Times are changing and more women are getting to the top and most men are at the top because of intimidationso the use there physical to keep women feared. Another thing about intelligence is that it can be seen through different talents. A math whiz, regardless of gender, can be able to solve any calculation you throw at them, but it is rare that they can paint a gorgeous portrait or play piano like Mozart. An art student, however, might beable to play piano, paint, sketch, and enjoy some poetry, but will suck at math. Both people are smart in their own right, but lack the smarts needed for another skill.

Einstein didn't learn to tie his shoes until he was 12 or 13. Somebody could've said he was stupid for not knowing how to do that. Someone as ignorant as you might've said that all of these women link weren't intelligent just because they had a vagina, but look at all that they accomplished.

Like a couple other people have already said, some girls are smarter than boys, some boys are smarter than girls. In fact my math teacher from last year that taught 3 different grade 9 classes said my class held the highest average and guess what, we only had 5 guys in our class and the rest were girls.

So in reality, if there's one gender smarter than the other, it's definitely the females. But none of that is true.

3.63 points means nothing. There has to be at least a 6 point difference in IQ for their to effectively be a significant difference in intelligence. Also, scores can vary depending on what form of the test was used.

Did the test factor in the course of study the students were pursuing?
Males are more likely to study math, science, and engineering, which would give them an upper hand in those areas of the test. Which if I remember correctly, is a majority of the test.
Yes, there are more men that qualify as having a genius IQ, because men are more likely to enjoy math. School, living environment, upbringing, and how the brain works all factor into this.
I'm not even going to touch the idea of race and intelligence being linked, because THAT theory has been debunked already.
The fact that men have larger brains doesn't necessarily mean anything, since they also on average have a larger body frame in general. The brain isn't just used to "think and reason". That is only a portion of the brain. Unless there is a study that says there is more ACTIVITY in that area of the brain versus the female brain, size means nothing.
Men are more likely to be better at chess because its a game involving spatial reasoning, and strategy, which is something that males excel more often at compared to women.

I have taken an IQ test once , and according it, my IQ should be somewhere around the 75 range
Of course the tests did not factor in the fact that I had just injured my wrist, and was in a decent amount of pain at the time.
Or that I was going off of an hour of sleep after working 4 hours of overtime at work.
They also do not factor in the fact that I have a visual and auditory learning disability, so I do not process information the same way as other people.
according to the "intelligence quotient" test I should have the intelligence of someone not able to finish high school, I not only graduated, I finished with a semesters worth of EXTRA classes, including advanced English and history. I finished my science requirements 2 years ahead of schedule, and would have graduated a year early, if not for my school prohibiting it.
I am currently working on a bachelors in criminal justice and 3D animation, hoping to one day apply to the FBI, and finish law school in the process.

There are many studies that have brought to light the fact that men and women learn differently. Also, the whole concept of what you need to know to be intelligent was created all those hundreds of years ago to be more compatible with what men are typically better at doing. If women had run the world for the past thousands of years most likely things that women's brains are genetically more likely to find easy would be what we call "intelligence". Anything that is said to measure intellect is completely biased in my opinion. That being said that is not because I am "stupid" by the standards of those tests, I am actually one of those one in six women considered to be a genius, or incredibly above average, I have an IQ of 149.

Men and women are both intelligent. Typically in fastly different ways; that is most likely why we form couples... to have that other half of the intelligence we needed to survive back in the beginning. That being said many men are more intelligent in a "woman kind of way" and many women such as myself are intelligent in a "man kind of way", both are just as important.

That's funny you believe that...The top 15% of my graduating class, over half were girls, including myself. Intelligence has a direct correlation with diligence. Some may have to try more than others, but the end result will be the one who puts in the effort needed will come out of it knowing a hell of a lot more. You also realize that a number of studies have shown that most girls and guys learn differently, so there is a high probability your studies have been influenced by biases in teaching etc. Also IQ has been highly questioned on its reliability for a while now. Not to mention even if you have a high IQ the question is what you do with it, I go to a magnet school and admittedly there are less girls then guys (its a math and science school and those fields are still uneven in interest), however I see a lot more guys who while they are "smart" are lazy and don't put much effort in so they do much worse (this doesn't mean there aren't ones that are smart and use it to the best of their ability, there are), I see fewer girls (almost none) who don't take advantage of their intelligence. Not to mention you are twisting these studies (whose legitimacy I doubt in the first place) even if there are more highly intelligent guys then highly intelligent girls (what the studies "suggest") it doesn't mean that guys are smarter then girls, period (aka all guys are smarter then all girls), which is what you suggest.
