Let me just say that I think that a man kissing a girl's hand is a form of genuine physical adornment. How about you? Here's what I have been thinking aloud.
I was dating a guy that I considered to be affectionate with me. In a movie theater, on our second date and after multiple phone/IM conversations, he began holding my hand and kissing it throughout the film. I was very amused and enjoyed his affection even though we had only hugged thus far. I ask because it definitely turned me on and it seems more chivalrous than a hug or kiss. After a few more dates he told me that he did not think that I was the right girl for him.
Then last night on St. Patty's Day at a pub I found this drunk guy flirting overboard with a girl. She seemed to enjoy the attention but not really into him. He kept held of her hand and throughout the evening he kissed it - I know that it greatly amused her. I believe that they had just barely met and he was (to my eyes) superly affectionate and it reminded me of the guy I was dating.
So in retrospective, I am thinking that my date was just looking for quick access to my physical space as opposed to a genuine sincerity of affection towards me.
Guys what would make you want to kiss a girl's hands? Are guys turned on by this or do they just know that this is a weak spot with girls? Or is it foreplay to kissing her mouth to gauge her reaction? Thanks. Cheers!
Well back in the day it was used as a form or greeting someone, a girl puts her hand out and the guy kisses it, but most guys don't do that in today's times, if you want to get in a girls space why not just tickle her or hold her hand, but hey it turned you on, so it might be something I would consider. It could be that he's trying to show you that he's a gentlemen and not a typical guy that just wants to get in your pants.
Its definitely not foreplay and nor does it turn me on as I'll do it even in the presence of the girlfriend. I suppose it is from a European upbringing and to me kissing a woman's hand is a sign of respect and admiration. Generally, if the woman is sitting down then I'll kiss her hand but if we are all standing then I may as well give her the good old traditional European peck on the cheek - either one cheek or both.
