If you liked a girl over the school year, then summer came (approx . 2 months) would you stop liking her over the summer ? Or would it become stronger since you don't get to see her ? Or would it kind of dwindle down then when you saw her the next year your "like" for her started up again ?
I live in South Africa, and our long holidays are at Christmas (also summer) but I have experience . I used to like a girl from Namibia that I worked with, or at least I was staff in a school teaching 3D animation and she was a student on another school learning radio broadcasting . Every day, for about two hours, we would chat . I grew very deep feelings for her, and decided to tell her at the start of the new year . She went home for her holidays, as did I . The following year, she returned as a staff member too . During my break, my feelings for her had drastically increased . I was really eager to see her again . Telling her didn't go well (I'm really, REALLY shy, and when I'm nervous, my logical mind takes over from my romantic one with the result that I stuttered through my words and started on a whole mess of nonsensical blabbering) and we didn't get together . Pity in some ways, good thing in others .
It forces you to make a decision . In a normal relationship you can be on the fence waiting for it to develop further and that's OK . When summer comes, you evaluate how much you like the girl . Am I really going to give up my summer for her ? (There must be a better way of putting that . ) Is she going to cheat on me even if I stay faithful ?
If you're really good on the phone / webcam and the two of you can talk for hours, you'll do fine . Make sure you get together at least once a month though . Most likely, and probably the best thing to do is to take a break for the summer . Let him know that you like him a lot, but you're both young and etc . That way there's no worrying about infidelity . It's expected, and a nice surprise at the end if neither was tempted . Or, summer is an easy out for a relationship that wasn't feeling right . You'll probably find out quickly .
As for me ? Summer made me realize that I was in a horrible relationship and let me take a very refreshing step back . Best move of my life .
