Why do guys act different around their friends?

If you're talking about the girl we like, then it's because we're trying to impress her. With guy friends, we can be ourselves a little more. That's also why you should be careful about some things guys say. Don't always take everything at a bad value, though. Guys would hunt me down for saying that. What I said about being around guys and acting like we truly are is actually a good clue for you about what we're really like. That's when we're not trying to impress someone so you can see what you're getting yourself into really. Always take a look at guys when they're in there natural habitat (lol) to see what they're like before getting into something with them.

When we're alone with you women, we allow you access to a special tender part of our brains, which is in total conflict with manliness. In it lies our weakness. Exposing this part of our minds would result in our immediate destruction in the harshness that is normal male culture.

The behavior you see is the result of us shutting down this part of our brains completely so as not to be dominated by our ape-like brethren.

The failure to shut down this part of our brains results in that type of fawning boyfriend who none of his friends respect anymore and a couple who everyone is ultimately disgusted with because of their sickening and constant public displays of affection.

Same reason you act differently around your parents, teachers and the police.

There's just "guy" things that you will never be able relate to, just like there a girl things we can't understand.

Be glad that he doesn't tell vulgar and crude jokes that he does with his friend to you.
