I've always wanted to ask this, but why do Mexican guys stare so much at women? I mean, they will often stare me down, follow me around, etc. and they aren't shy about it at all....more so than other men.

Its def cultural, but its not a strange Mexican thing. Europeans are exactly the same way. American guys are just shy compared to the rest of the world. I'm an American (wasp actually lol) and my girlfriend is French. When I visited her family in France I noticed sooo many men staring at my girl and even making comments. One guy actually said to me, "wow, you've got a queen there." NO American would say that. haha

Well either that's the case or you're just really hot. In which case I would prob stare and follow you around too. lol

Question Asker Funny you should say that about other countries. When my husband and I were in Israel the Palestinian men would come up and say "I give you 10 camels for her" jokingly. But I think they were just trying to sell us stuff. - 5 months ago

I think it's cultural, but it does get irritating. A Mexican guy about a month ago followed me all over the store, and then while I was waiting for my bus, he sat next to me and started touching my knee. He didn't understand why I was upset by this.

It's a cultural thing. In Mexico, women are admired openly and are okay with it so the guys are raised not seeing a problem with admiring a beautiful woman to the fullest in public. I know it gets annoying and even uncomfortable at times, but it's just what they're used to. You should be flattered if anything because there are people out there that would give anything to be that adored by anyone of the opposite sex. That's how I look at it anyway and that's what's prevented me from getting aggravated with it. I used to get so pissed and yell and swear at them lol because I felt so violated and thought they were looking at me as a cheap piece of meat. I talked to my cousin that is from Mexico about it though and he explained it to me just as I have to you. Also in Mexico, women are comfortable in their skin no matter how they look. They are raised to feel beautiful and aren't concerned with their weight or any other insecurities as American women are. So it's harder for us to accept compliments when we aren't seeing what others do in us and express it so openly and without shame.

Advice: How To Be Single And Happy
Does it ever annoy you that you're single?
random-ren asked 20 days ago

Yes, most of the time! I really wish I had a boyfriend/girlfriend!

A little, because I feel left out.

Not really...

Nope! I have too much fun being single!

What's there to be annoyed about?

Describe your ideal first date; Where do you go? What do you wear? How does the date end?
Ideal first date... Venice Boardwalk. The people there are crazy cool. Then hit the beach; not corny "walk on the beach at sunset" first date, but just to chill and talk. Or just take me somewhere I've never been. I'd wear jeans, flip-flops, and a cute top (always depends on how I feel that day). The date ends with a walk to my front door and a kiss goodnight (now that's corny and classic :D).

Afterwards..what will your date know about you?
Well, since it's a date where we've hopefully talked a lot (don't you hate those first dates where you go home and think, I still don't know anything about that person?), he'll know that I'm open-minded, cultural, fun, love learning new things on any topic, creative, and a free-spirit.

Oh, and a little bit silly :D.

Would you date me?
