Why do they get called sluts?

Wow first off I'm amazed that a guy, especially such a young guy is asking this question. It's honestly quite refreshing and admirable because most guys either go along with this double standard, or are too afraid to ask why it's there in the first place. And a double standard is all it is. All throughout history, men have been the more dominant sex and have been able to do whatever they want and not get judged. Women, however, have always had a set of rules to live by. Their sole purpose in life was to be virgins until they got married, make babies, cook, clean, and be a sex slave for their husband and obey everything he said. As time progressed, and woman gained their independence, men became threatened by it and came up with that double standard so that they still have that superior place in society. They just recently changed the wedding vows from saying the woman will honor and obey to they will love and honor.

It is because women can get pregnant and men don't have to worry about it because they can just fall off the face of the earth after they have sex.

A very interesting question especially coming from a guy! Ok the thing is like all the other 2 girls said - it's all really society and double standards that we deal with. The thing is most men don't realize that all the men who are on top of the whole congress that the women are behind them and helping them through everything! If you notice - why is it that every president that we had (at least I think) or governor or mayor why is it that he's married and full with a family? Because that's the way a man gets through with a woman by his side - alone he can never do it! Now to your question why is it that women are called sluts because supposedly a woman is supposed to be this sweet, innocent little thing and the fact because a woman is not as strong as a man! Men can take advantage of us just like that and if you notice centuries ago that's how it was - still is now at some point! To me it's really like this and will always be like this if a man can sleep with over 50 woman - he's a slut - that's all he is - end of story and if a woman does the same - then so is she! It's just people say equality should exist among men but never seem to say equality should exist among woman and men! So I'm saying if a woman sleeps with 50 men - she's a slut, if a man sleeps with 50 women - he's a slut! But no sorry girls are not sluts if they sleep with 2 guys! And please they wouldn't be called men if they didn't have women - so you know what all women should do just dump the guy before he sleeps with her we'll see if a guy can take that!

Guys can sleep with 50 women and nothing happens because we live in a world with the most ridicilous DOUBLE STANDARDS. Its so funny because 2 and 3 is a much smaller # then 50. But if you were to put me in a room full of judges they would probably shake their heads disapprovingly. Put a guy in that same room they would probably shake his hand. Will it ever change? Probably no. Is it fair? Hell No

Exactly! Our society is so caught up in the perfect situation with the guy being the leader and the women being the classy house wife. If a guy sleeps with 50 women then he's a slut, but 50 is pretty gross hahaha. I don't think that the perspective of only a women being a slut will ever change though

I think its because Men don't view their buddies as a slut if they sleep with multiple women.

Women on the other hand get jealous of other women and call even their best friend a slut.

This in turn makes it easier for society to accept women as being sluts.

While men will just laugh it off or look up to a guy who has slept with more women.

It all starts at a young age and how parents raise their children.

This is a puzzlement of human life isn't it.
Consider that a man might even be thought as better for having conquered many a woman. He gains the label "stud" and is even MORE appealing.

I don't understand it, at all.

Being a guy, the standard that falls on us, not only for sexual conquests, but also on intelligence, decency, and dignity are thrown out the window. A woman is EXPECTED to uphold and follow certain behavior patterns, including being meek, clean, pretty, and all those other sexist things that Women's rights groups have been working against for god knows how long.

Men have no standards for decency or conduct, as is evidenced by one crucial thing : Beer!
