A few months ago I met a guy while he was working and I gave him my number. He didn't call for the next couple of months and then all of a sudden a few weeks ago, I get a call from him. He explained that he always wanted to call, but he was involved in a relationship at the time.
We've been talking over 4 weeks and have not gone out ONCE. Every time I try to set something up he agrees and cancels on me, he completely stands me up, or he just makes up excuses. I know it seems obvious, but the only thing is that he still calls every night and we have great conversations, so what gives? He keeps saying to be patient with him and that he's really busy, but 4 WEEKS!? Am I wasting my time?
It would seem that there are 2 possibilities here: (A) He's been out of that last relationship for a little while now, but is he really, psychologically speaking, separated from his ex? He's probably not entirely over her and, whether he realizes it or not, he may not be quite ready to commit himself to another woman. or (B) He and this girl are still seeing each other. Do you know for sure if they are completely broken up?
The bottom line is you have to know where his priorities lie. He knows you're interested, but from the sounds of it, he is still mildly attached to his ex. And if he's not willing to move on, then you may be wasting your time.
