I have only ever had a few guy friends.. Are you guys intimidated by lesbians? Or do guys only want to be friends with girls that they have a chance with? I'm interested to see the responses!
Why would guys be intimidated by lesbians? I mean seriously now. Intimidated? Really?
I'm just saying because whenever this expression in particular is invoked, it's because someone feels insecure about not getting along with or not getting noticed by guys, so to avoid admitting that it might be because of a personality flaw in the first party (her), they explain that it's a personality flaw in the other party (all guys universally). Solid logic. Way to go, Occam's Razor.
Maybe intimidated wasn't the right word. for example, if I was to befriend a guy, I wouldn't know exactly how to act, how to flirt, how to "be" around him, because I am so used to dealing with girls. so is it the same for guys? they know how to flirt, act, and be around straight girls that are interested (or not)... but do guys not know how to act around a girl who likes well... girls? would you act different around a girl who has a different sexual orientation? beyond flirting obviously - 4 months ago

It'd be probably be easier and more relaxed to be honest. - 4 months ago
Most of the time if a guy is attempting to connect with you it's because he's attracted to you. if he's not aware of your sexual orientation he'll be a bit disappointed when he finds out but if he hasn't felt lead on then he may be able to transition into a friend depending on how "into" you he'd gotten before he found out there wasn't any chance.
Hmm interesting.. so most of the time men only connect with women because of a possible "interest" factor in your opinion? - 4 months ago

If a guy just wanted a "buddy" he'd hang out with another guy. If he's making an attempt to talk to a girl out of the blue, that's at least initially attraction whether or not he finds another reason later. Guys aren't taking into account that you may have a sexual preferences that exclude them. There are cases where it's not true though, work and school situations that force interaction with the opposite sex for instance. Not every guy at work is trying to date a female co-worker for instance. - 4 months ago
But you have an abundance of reasons to keep straight girls around? so it the reason you're friends with girls in the first place because you could eventually be interested? please don't misread my tone, I'm just curious! - 4 months ago

A plausible theory, though if that were the case, then it would rule out married women and women with boyfriends as potential friends of mine. so it doesn't really work.
I have ONE lesbian friend. We used to be really close but then we ran out of reasons to hang out so much, so we're just moderately close now. She'll hit up my parties periodically. I just genuinely have very little in common with most lesbians.
And all my tomboy friends are straight. . . . - 4 months ago
