This is how it goes me and my mate my guy mate we always used to like talk to each other you know like friends do he is single and so was I. Till I said I go out with someone then all of a sudden he is too busy to talk to me much weird he never did this before. At first I just assumed he was busy but now it feels like he was expecting something more and is now ignoring me. I'm just waiting for this weird period to be over though cause he is still single but he always used to be concerned about me or my problems despite his own. Am I just over reacting? He is just a good friend and I value my mates too?

I think that the reason he is saying he is always busy is he's jealous because he probably has feelings for you he's just to shy to say it so talk to him in private one day and ask what's up.

Yes, treat us equal in every way, even if it causes us problems

No, we should get equality when we want it, but preferential treatment other times.
