Why doesn't she think I don't "matter"?

She's definitely just being a brat. Trust me, this is no expression of modesty or anything. She's just trying to piss you off. :/ I'd forget about her.

If she actually does realize how you feel but still persists in confiding in you about how guys don't like her, then really... that's cold. IF that's the case, she's sticking around for the ego boost. She gets the affection and big ups without having to give anything in return. And you get to play the sucker.

Odds are less but it could be she just doesn't believe it, or doesn't know how she feels. If you want a solid answer, ask her out to a (nice) restaurant and a movie. Something really generic, but unmistakably a date. Put the feelers out early in the evening by grabbing her hand and seeing how she responds. If it goes well, close out with a kiss. It's a gamble, but she's got you in a spot. If she really isn't into you, she'll duck away, or will say no thanks to the date at the outset. It'll suck, but at least you'll have a solid answer and you'll be able to move on. BUT, if she kisses you back, you're laughing.

What she means is: the guys SHE wants would never like her.

What you should do is talk to her about it. and if your shy if she brings up how no one likes her tell her firmly "i like u". that will give her the sense that you r serious about what is going on.
