What does he mean by that?

Okay, I know you asked for answers from guys, but I thought I'd give my $0. 02. I call everyone by those sorts of terms of endearment just because of the culture in which I was raised. My family used sugar, babe, sweetheart, honey, all the time. So even if I barely know the person, I'm going to be using those words. Does he call other female friends by those terms? If he does, it probably is a cultural-type thing. If not, there may be something more there.
