The guy might just want to hold your hands or hug you tight, do things for you for nothing back instead of always touching you, talk about sex or sexually things or how hot/sexy your body is.

Best way to find out I think its to know him longer, also sometimes his friend can effect him too (like if all his friend is a player then somewhat higher chance he's one too, but I'm not saying 100% will be.)

A simple way to tell is if the guy is pushy about being physical with you. If he just wants to make out or have sex, then you get an idea of what he really wants; if he really likes you and you keep pushing off doing anything physical, and he still sticks around, then there is the possibility that he might like you; however, many guys do stick around till they get what they want. But my friends have reported that this is a decent way that many times weed out the players. The pros at being players thought might still stick around.
