I'm really sarcastic, and I do pick on guys a little to get a rise out of them and see if they'll retaliate. Though, I think sometimes it does come across as mean, but I usually explain myself if they don't know me too well. Some girls I know are a little mean so they can have the guy chase them. That's strange. But usually, most girls can play "hard to get. " I guess the like the chase or see how the guy will respond. Don't waste time on people like them. You deserve someone better and straight forward.
Well, it depends on the person and your definition of 'mean'. Is she mean to all guys? It could just be her personality, and she's just joking with you. If she's messing with you she'll smile after she says something mean, if her comments sound like they're intended to hurt, and she gives no sign of humor, then she's probably not kidding. She's probably just mean. If that's the case, don't waste your time! If you get the feeling she's a jokester, joke along with her!

Maybe she is naturally a very sweet girl, and was just interested in a friendship with you, & how you confessed your feelings for her, it freaked her out because she was just trying to be platonic, so she tried to degrade you in hopes of you backing off & wanting to only be friends with her.

Hmm.. well, that's the deal breaker. You reached out and tried to add her on the internet, and that's the easiest place to make or break. She deleted it, that should be a big sign to you alerting that she's not interested in you.
