ok I'm not skinny at all I weigh 134pounds but I don't eat some weeks and others I stuff my face and make myself sick,im addicted to making myself sick to me its like a hobby I love to do it ,it makes me feel good but I don't see anything wrong at all with any of this as I'm not skinny my weight does obviously drop and go back up but this isn't an eating disorder right? because my friend made a joke in saying you know what when we are going to college you will be going to a place were they treat eating disorders and I'm very offended so I just thought id ask is it an eating disorder?
Ok one thing you must know is.WTF?! that has to be one of the worst things TO-DO to your body because by starving yourself for weeks and not eating your body feeds off its fat stores and then gets used to the amount of in this case LESS FOOD you intake so your metabolism f***'s up and slows down which means that the second you stuff your face with a lot of food your body will hold that food longer then usual and you gain weight faster

If you're saying you have an appetite that fluctuates then I wouldn't call it an eating disorder. Appetites fluctuate for different people based on their moods and things that go on in their lives. If you're saying you purposely don't eat some weeks so you can stuff yourself silly to the point of feeling sick to maintain your weight than it sounds like you may have some type of disorder.
Its not healthy for you to starve body then stuff yourself silly. Especially if your weight fluctuates by a large amount, you may feel fine but the large fluctuations in body weight and amount of nutrients your body puts stress/shock on your body's systems. You should really try to have a more regular diet to avoid shocking and stressing your body unknowingly and unnecessarily.
If by sick you mean you're stuffing yourself silly then making yourself sick and regurgitating your food then yah. you got a eating disorder even though you weigh 134 lbs. And you need to see a professional.

I'm afraid you may have that eating disorder... And your friend was probably just trying to show he's worried by bringing up with you in a joke. When you make yourself sick you're not just regurgitating the food you downed but the acids in your stomach that are digesting the food too... So in a sense you're exposing the tissues in your throat to acid and that is very bad for your throat. You should talk to your parents about getting help. If being skinny is something you are after, being unfair to you body and stomach is not the way you are going to achieve this. when you don't eat your body just eats all the muscle you have stored. you may think its eating the fat away, but it eats the muscle first. The best way to lose weight is to start eating healthy, and to start exercising everyday. I know maybe in your head you think I can't its so hard, but you can, it only takes so long to create a habit, and that is the habit speaking for you. take it one day at a time. focus on eating a light breakfast like cereal and toast, and just not fattening meals. watch what you buy at the store, and stay away from sugar. start walking in the mornings to start, and eventually work your way up to running. hope I helped. if not I'm sorry. good luck.
Its a type of eating disorder. I have had one since I was 13, people used to pick on me cause I was so skinny. I had gotten pregnant when I was 18 and that pretty much saved me from the worse. I'm 26 and I still go through day after day I have a very hard time eating cause I get sick from it, its not healthy to do this. But you can change that, try eating healthier food that won't make you sick, start out light and work up your body will go back to normal the sickness will still be there but you need to get it back on the healthy track again.
I was similar to that but my eating was tied to my emotions like if I was angry I wouldn't eat I was like that when I was about 10? Like I never really eat cause I didn't want to I preferred to take my anger out on myself but ow I eat. And I used to throw up sometimes but that was because I was stuffing my face with too many unhealthy food which my body did not like.
I think your starting to develop an eating disorder. Honestly you will definitely know you have an eating disorder if you skin is worser and your teeth has been damaged from throwing up all the time. That is the final result.

well if you don't eat for weeks at a time and you make urself sick when you do it. sadly it is an eating disorder. you should get some help becuz its not healthy for you to be doing that

I know that but were I live people are proud to have eating disorders as if it was a cool thing I mean I think half them make it up because why would you publically brag about it ? I've never told anyone this before that's why I kept anoymous so were I live nobody goes and seeks help about it so what if I'm the first surely the doctor will look at me bad - 6 months ago

That IS skinny, and yes that is an eating disorder.
But you don't have to be skinny to have an eating disorder.
You can be average or over weight.
You are like both anorexic and bulimic. When you don't eat, that's anorexia, and that slows down your metabolism and makes your body think you are starving, which you are.
Then it's bulimia when you binge & purge. This doesn't allow your body to get the proper nutrients, as with not eating at all. We need to eat food for a reason. To stay alive. And when you don't eat, or throw up after you eat, you are slowly killing yourself.
When you throw up your food, you damage your esophagus and teeth. The stomach acid eats away at the enamel of your teeth and can cause cavities and make them yellow and gross.
If you do this all for too long and too much and don't get the right nutrients, your hair can start falling out, you can have heart problems and many other health issues.
Also, how often do you weigh yourself? Or compare yourself to other girls? Or stare in the mirror and look at yourself (in a bad way).
Please tell somebody you trust and get help before it goes too far

Tell your mother. Go get therapy. Go to a treatment center, anything. I'm 5' 8" and 230... So 100 lb more. You have an eating disorder. You are killing yourself. Get help or just suffer and die. Your choice I guess. The damage can get better if you stop ASAP and get help! - 6 months ago
