If they spend too much time looking for little signs, then they may miss the most obvious signs of all.

this may sound bad, but overall, girls are just too "girly" when it comes to relationships. Don't be afraid to take a risk once in a while. This guy may have the hots for your friend, but I see no reason that the male should be the one expected to make the first move. tell your friend to be a bit more aggressive than "waiting for the signs" and pursue this guy, she may be surprised with the results.

prettygirl Don't guys find it unexciting wen the girl makes the first move? esp if the guy is not shy, would he like it if the girl makes the first move? - 4 months ago
Answerer It is so rare for a girl to be the one to initiate anything, that I would highly doubt that the guy finds it unexciting.
Perhaps there are guys that would not like the girl to be in control of the relationship, that is true, but as far as the first move is concerned, I would be surprised if ANY guys were turned off by it. It is hard to be the ones to start everything. - 4 months ago

Shy guys are afraid of rejection so they end up never making the first move. Since they are friends, it would be easy for her to give out hints that she might like him and see if he responds to the stimuli.
