When someone ends a conversation with " take care" how do you normally take it?

it depends on whether the person is a close friend or someone you talk to for the first time or just a week

ha! that's funny this girl I was dating would always say "take care" when she was tired of arguing and didn't want to talk anymore. I always took it as an insult. its like saying "Whatever" but it's like so much worse because its like they are telling you.

"take care because I really care what happens to you, but I really don't care, so take care!"

Its obvious that this girl had broken up many many times before lol

I've never thought of 'take care' in that way. I take it as in take care of yourself until the next time I see you.

The guy I used to talk to and every conversations, he would ended with "Take Care". To me, when a guy uses this phrase mean he doesn't want to have any emotional tie with the girl too much and he is afraid that she is going to break his defense barrier that he put it on himself. He cares but he doesn't want anyone to be closed to him period.
