long story short, he told me that he loves me, he has always loved me, and will always love me. I was in shock so I was like.what? really?! .and he was like yeah, a different kind of love. So I was like.sisterly love? and he said no that would be incest.

it sounds like this is the kind of friendship that he doesn't want to let go of. But he would like to date you, however if you guys ever had a really bad breakup, he would blame himself. And if you two were to ever not be friends after, he would be lost. So he is conflicted and he thinks about it a lot.
If a person approaches someone their attracted to, and then gets to know them and they hang out. Then time goes by and they become best friends. And the person then develops a feeling of love in a friendly way for their best friend even though they might have been attracted to them first place. Then they get an epiphany like "Whoa, maybe I am really in love? But their my best friend? Am I really in love, or just have love for them? And they try to work though their emotions but really they are somewhat tied together. So it's hard to distinguish which feeling is which, or which is most felt.
I once said that to a gir; that I loved her and always would, because I don't know I guess I thought we would be perfect it turns out it didn't work, but I don't know what kind of love it was, the guy who said that to you does love you and doesn't know how to tell you. if you love him tell him because I lost my true love because I waited to long to tell her.

I hate pickup lines. Usually when I'll meet someone I'll comment on whatever is going on around us...I try to find something funny.
How do they typically respond?
Usually they'll laugh and we'll talk about whatever, but it's up to her to respond. I kinda get a feel for the chemistry and this usually breaks the ice a bit.
