lol, I was too lazy to read this song so I listened to it! Dam the singer has no voice for the 1st one! Anyways, He is pretty much saying that don't give up on love, just because you've been hurt in the past. In time your broken heart will be healed. He's saying there's love Right in front of you (his love) In time you will find love. I'm going to say that he doesn't like you more than a friend. The first song is pretty much his advice to you! I could be wrong, but I could be right as well!
The 2nd song was better than the first one. It sounds better! Anyways, This one is saying so what if things didn't workout the way you wanted with your ex's. Just be happy you went out with him and got to experience great things and you had fun with them. So find someone else and repeat all the good times once again! Don't dwell on the past too much, start focusing on the present and the future more. Why are you opening the door for me then shutting me out once he(guy friend) approaches it. You have too much pane. You and your guy friend carry each other,"got each others back!
Its like I said, I don't think he likes you, unless you want him to and you do want to be more than just friends. I would ask him do you have feelings for me. Be straight up with him. Flirt with him a bit and ask him a flirtatious way and see what happens. Let me know about it. I got a bit curious too now, lol!

It sounds like he likes you a lot, given, lol since he told you. But it also sounds like he is going to have a crush on you for a while. But he wants to date you too, however if you two date he doesn't want it to be where you don't have a friendship if you were to break-up if you dated. He was your friend first, and no matter what happens he just doesn't want to disappoint you in any way.
