With each person it can vary, and it also depends on when the person last used the drug.
Cocaine is an extreme stimulant, which means shortly after taking it, people (typically) get extremly hyper, euphoric, energetic,... they may seem like they just drank 400 cups of coffee, very wired.
Soon after they stop using however, they crash. This can lead to fatigue, depression, loss of color, etc. Depending on how much they took, they could also sleep for very long times (days at a time sometimes).
If you think that someone you know might have a problem, you need to talk to someone and get them help, even if you think that they will get mad at you.
Below are some more symptoms and effects.
Common physical signs of cocaine addiction include but are not limited to:
- Red, bloodshot eyes - Runny nose or frequent sniffing - Weight loss - Increased susceptibility to illness - Increased blood pressure - Constricted blood vessels - Dilated pupils - Increased heart rate - Increased temperature - Nosebleeds - Altered motor activities (tremors, hyperactivity) - Perspiration or chills - Nausea or vomiting
Common emotional signs of cocaine addiction include but are not limited to:
- Change in eating or sleeping patterns - Change in groups of friends - Change in school grades or behavior - Withdrawn, depressed, tired, or careless about personal appearance - Loss of interest in school, family, or activities - Frequently in need of money - Unusual energy followed by excessive sleeping - Depression - Irritability - Erratic behavior - Isolation - Strained relationships - Missed work - Increased time away from family - Stealing/Lying/Financial problems - Thoughts of suicide - Paranoia - Auditory hallucinations - Talking rapidly
Lastly, cocaine is VERY addictive, many people develop their addiction from their VERY FIRST USE. If someone you know is using, and says that they can handle it, they can't, it will handle them if they don't get help.
Best of luck.
