I've heard that European men are more passionate in a relationship. Is that true? Passionate in both the emotional and physical sense. Such as expressing their emotions about the person and public display of affection.

All of my experiences have been with North American men and I recently started seeing this guy from the UK. He seemed very forward and direct about his feelings towards me and very affectionate. I'm not sure if it's just him or Europeans in general.

I've spent time with guys from all over the world and yes, it does seem that the Europeans are more emotional!
but bear in mind that is not always a good thing!
nothing is wrong with a good American guy! LOL!

Question Asker Lets not even talk about the Chinese. I'm Chinese and I know most of them are emotionally deficient. - 3 months ago

It seems to me that many men are afraid to express any emotions toward women outside their families because the women are likely to respond with hostility.

My own US born friends, especially the men, were like that at first. They were suspicious of my friendly attitude and later told me they thought I was trying to 'set them up."

It's hard to be passionate when you are worried about possible hostility.

My family is spread all over the world and I hear from them that men in Europe, especially outside of England, are much less this way. They have less fear of expressing their feelings because the women are less likely to respond with hostiltiy.

Question Asker Interesting. I guess we are responsible for them acting this way? Just kidding. I wouldn't necessarily call it "hostility", I think it's the way that we find it difficult to trust one another in modern society. We live in a society where a lot of us are indifferent and suspicious of people we don't know. We fear that everyone that's nice to us has some kind of hidden agenda. It's quite sad, really. - 3 months ago
Badbruce Yes, hostiltiy was the best word I could think of. Maybe ;frightened; would have been better - 3 months ago
