There could really be a lot of reasons, but the most common and probably most likely is that:
Driking alcohol interferes with the transmission of nerve cells (which accounts for the degraded movement, speech, and other drunk symptoms). Smoking can actually restrict the amount of oxygen to the brain which in turn will seem to increase the "buzz."
For some people, there is actually a biological reaction to the nicotine/tobacco which causes the feeling (which is tied to genetics), but overall the above answer probably explains what is happening to you.
i honestly don't know but I do know that smoking menthols when you're under the influence of anything (whether it be drugs or alcohol) increases the effects.
