When I was fourteen I liked this guy in my gym class. I never talked to him, but we shared similar interests and whatnot. By the next school year his friend told me he liked me, and when my own friend asked him himself if he did, he said "Not telling".
Soon after, we started talking online (AND ONLY THERE). We would walk by each other and he'd look tense and look away. Sometimes we'd make eye contact, but mostly he looked scared. By the time I was sixteen I got around to asking him if he liked me, and he gave me "as a friend", and told me his friend was kidding. I told him I liked him, and he said something that SEEMED like, "well, you're a cool person and I want to get to know you more". As weeks passed, he seemed uninterested. But my deep down gut feeling every time I see him at school tells me that he likes me and was too shy to admit the truth.
It's been four days of school, and I've picked up some "signs". In class, every time he walks by me he makes a clicking sound with his tongue. The second day of school he smiled at me. I've also noticed him staring at me every once in a while.
Is it possible that he likes me but was just shy? Thanks in advance =]
Update: NOTE: we have not yet spoken in person. EVER. He suggested hanging out, and weeks later I brought it up again, but he thought it'd be too awkward.
