I still have strong feelings for my ex even though he wasn't the best boyfriend, we went through a lot together. I told this guy at work ever since he has been flirting with me I tried to let him know in a nice way that I just want to be friends with him. I don't want to hurt him, he is a nice guy. I also am not ready to move on. It has only been a few days since the break up. I don't think that when I am ready to go out in the world of dating again it would be with this guy from work. What do I do? I am thinking about my ex and always talking about him my heart is still with him. How do I get this guy from work to back off w/o hurting him?
Update: I let him know that I am not ready for anything with anyone right now and that I just see him as a friend. He seemed to take it kinda ok. I hope he gets the message. I was still nice to me but things feel a little weird now.

It might sound a little on the harsh side but slowly begin to hint around, talk about another guy, or tell him your still not over your ex he should get the picture then.
I would drop hints. Say something like "I'm so done with dating for a long time" Let him know you are not ready to date. Don't flirt back either. good luck.
