Why does my boyfriend keep referring to his one ex as " this hot little thing" in front of our friends? I've talked to him but he still does it. Or he makes comments about hot chicks in front of me, and to our friends I look like an idiot cause I just sit there and take it or we'll end up in a fight.

It could be several things. 1. maybe he's being sarcastic. 2.Maybe he's an asshole trying to get a rise out of you. 3. he might think it's funny or an inside joke, and if that's the case make your point on this sternly, but not angrily and see what happens from there.
Guys like that. Him making that in front of you may be a bit awkward but I assure you he does that when he is with his friends. No harm in that. Instead of feeling bad, you can make a comment too, like yeah she is hot or you can say nah she has big thighs. The more you get frustrated, the more he will do.
On the other hand, him referring to his ex as this hot little thing is quite stupid. However if he had any feelings for her, I don't think he would say that in front of you. Instead he may trying to show you that he was dating a hot girl. Again, just ignore. When you ignore, he will stop doing it, as long as he still doesn't like his ex.
If he does it and it gets on your nerves, do the same thing to him and see how he feels... then when he realizes how it makes you feel when he does it maybe he'll quit.
I'd agree with Austin...guys are immature that way. Just ignore him or make a huge joke of it. My boyfriend loves to irritate me and I didn't realize I should just ignore him until, get this, my dog started ignoring him when he'd mess with her and it made him stop. If a dog can out smart a guy, surely we can too! :)
